So I work from home and my work sent me a new computer, said they re imaged it. How do I know what if any spying devices like key loggers stuff like that did they install on it?

I think it is safe to assume that your company is monitoring you. Some will even disclose that fact to you. The unknown is are they also probing your network and collecting other information. To be absolutely safe it's best to use only that machine for work only. Isolate by disconnection after finished. This is a new security concern for the work from home economy.

Yes, there is no expectation of privacy when using employer-supplied equipment. Cover camera when not in use and shutdown laptop when you are done for the day.

I was logging in to my Linux machine just now and was putting in my pw, and I thought to myself, "Wow, it's really cool to know that I own my keystrokes."

I recently started using Joplin, lots of features and sync possibilities. Going to transfer my Evernote to this and combine it with my own nextcloud.

Sidenote, development for Joplin started when Evernote changed its pricing model and limited the number of devices that could access the notes.

I exported all my iTunes music onto an external hard drive in mp3 format. I had roughly 16,000 songs. It takes a few hours. I imported the music into rhythmbox. iTunes will convert to MP3
For those of you who have written asking for more "JP stories," (who would have thought?!?!) it's becoming a tradition to share these with you on Sunday evenings, before the start of the new week. And, if you think they're boring, the good news is, there will be plenty of tech talk starting up again tomorrow morning ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ™Œ
Last week, we shared a story with you about how JP 'accidentally' ended up assigning television news commentator Sean Hannity his first time slot on the public airwaves, years ago (late-1980's) when Jeff worked as 'traffic manager' (program scheduler) at KCSB-FM, a radio station in his home town of Santa Barbara, California. That is a true story! Jeff even helped defend Sean at a hearing in front of hundreds of people, from the very mean Elizabeth Robinson, who sacked Hannity from his show after Sean made some 'controversial' comments on the air. lol. It may have been Jeff's first run-in with controversy. (JP pictured, front-left. Way too young for that job...!!)
Back then, while working at radio stations, Jeff made another friend in his home town, J.R. Richards. J.R. was a young aspiring musician who had a mutual friend with Jeff.

At the time, J.R. had a band called "Life Talking." Jeff got the band its first public attention by playing their music on KCSB-FM, later KHTY-FM 97.5, and KIIS-FM 102.7FM in Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter, J.R.'s band changed its name to "Dishwalla," and they went on to become a powerhouse on the American rock and roll charts for a long time.

It was J.R.'s song, "Counting blue cars," and it's lyrics, "Tell me all your thoughts on God," that sparked Jeff's interest in his journey back towards Christianity.
J.R. and Jeff remained friends through present-day. J.R. is an amazingly talented musician and song writer with one of the "biggest voices" in modern rock. While a lot of his music is classified as "rock and roll," he covers many musical genres. Despite having top-10 hits that are playing somewhere in the world right now, J.R. is a humble guy, one of the most down to earth performers you will know. For your Sunday evening, here's J.R. Richards performing "Angels or devils." Talk to you soon, friends! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

"As mainstream computer and mobile operating systems move towards tyranny,
As machines begin to think,
As citizens are told to disengage from technological innovation,
As Silicon Valley and Washington focus solely on profits, where it's never enough,
As foreign governments increasingly act to bribe and buy our politicians,
As Silicon Valley acts as a branch of tyrannical government,
Who will stop them?
Who will fix America's dependence on 'big tech'?

We will. We the people.
The people of America,
One Nation under God.
We need to start working on this now.
It's more important than you may imagine."
