The news coverage before, during, and after the release of the Maricopa County Forensic Audit Report Report in Arizona yesterday provides us a good opportunity to evaluate which websites we trust and do not trust for accurate news fairly presented and to add those we trust to our RSS Readers so we have a direct feed of news from those sites without any filtering from Social Media https://medium.com/@beatingbigtech/5-big-steps-to-digital-freedom-step-5-c80da2dc961d

It’s my opinion that anyone still using Facebook and Twitter are aiding the enemy

Abandon Facebook
Abandon twitter
Abandon Instagram
Abandon tictok

Stop making selfish excuses.

Leave them all now! Turn them into MySpace and remove their power.

Stop making excuses.

You do not NEED it for business or to keep in touch with family or friends. You do not need it for dating or networking. You are just telling yourself that because you are addicted.

Stop lying to yourself

Deactivate your account NOW!!!!

GoDaddy has strict terms of service and has banned / blocked domains. Epik is what Gab.com uses and supports free speech.

We are a small mom and pop pet grooming and I have wanted to get away from daddy for a while now. There must be a little mom and pop hosting company out there. Not complicated not a lot of traffic can I host it myself?

👍 I enjoy Gettr. My problem is getting my friends and family OFF FB and Twitter, and over there. Nobody wants to deal with that "discomfort" long enough to give a different platform a try

It's great. This place has become my sanctuary. The other channels I follow get heated and become a free for all in chat. This place is full of decent, wholesome people from the man himself, Jeffery Peterson, the admins, and all the people starting their journey. It's a nice place to be

I ordered the Raspberry pi400 and it came today. Woohoo. I’m not techie at all and 67 years old. It was the fastest easiest way to start before changing my laptop or iPad over. Which I’m not sure I’ll even be able to do. But this group is awesome!!!

First thing to do is back all your data.

I see this one often.

Learn how to access your BIOS
so you can boot from your USB with Linux on it.

I have a dilemma...my wife and I have been arguing about my views of what's happening around the world?
My view is that I try thinking for myself. But I'm married and she is very important to me.
I'm also a forward thinker...I'm trying to be prepared and involved.
It upsets my wife and so many others in our family. When I spend time researching Linux...it makes people angry...and the biggest defense people come up with is the fact that Windows o/s users say that this has been repeated over and over and over. People don't believe an O/S system could fail...
Are there others in my situation?
I'm tired of family and friends telling me I'm wrong!!!

I have not had this problem yet. I've had some that are skeptical about Linux, but I explain to them the free and open source facts about it. Who doesn't love FREE? I sold a friend of mine on the idea of Linux after asking him to show me the tens of thousands of people that are able to see the source code for windows and "audit" it. Does he REALLY know what windows is doing? No, but he can with Linux

Maybe find and show him documentation about how Windows is nothing but spyware, tracking your every keystroke. Get him involved in Linux and how it's open source, maybe he can write code for it to make it better (if possible!! ) Part of being an engineer is knowing how software works. My sons used to take radios and electronic gadgets apart to figure them out and then put them back together. This was in 80s/90s. Now one is a mechanical engineer, the other is a computer network engineer.

Have told my very similar Teen the same, he's agreed to dual boot his main PC but wants to keep Windows for School laptop. I told him engineers have to learn systems so he has to have a go, done a bit of Arduino and 3d printing so should be ok

I felt like an addict in withdrawal when I left Twitter snd FB.

I get it

But that’s no excuse. Heroin addicts use the same excuse that’s it’s uncomfortable so they keep using.

They are no different than a person addicted to social media.
But God.

He is bigger than any of these roadblocks we face. We fight on.

I use Namecheap hosting. It's reliable, always up, VERY affordable, and has regular CPanel. I run a Wordpress website for my art business. I've used lots of other hosting services, and many are very slow.

I'm living in one of the big cities in Germany. Maybe 10 years ago the city administration switched all computers and the data processing to Linux. And they were really proud. Everything worked fine. Nobody complained. Then, after a few years Microsoft build a big domicile here with thousends of new jobs. And within a few weeks the city administration switched back to Windows... I'm pretty sure Microsoft "sponsored" a few new PCs and servers. And spies...
