they promoted a computer called "CyberVision 2001" in the late 1970's. Then over the years they promoted many other home computer brands including packard-bell
someone in senior management must have been a techie ๐ because they really did prioritize marketing home computers

A nationwide phone network has shut down in Spain just weeks after blackouts brought chaosand heavy financial damage to the country.
Emergency services in a number of regions had to provide new telephone numbers for those in need, after phone lines collapsed following network upgrades by Telefonica.
Landline telephones were the worst affected but all voice services by Telefonica appear to have been affected to some extent, according to reports in Spanish media.
A Telefรณnica spokesperson said: โWe have done some network upgrade work which has affected some companies' fixed communication services (voice and internet).

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals on Monday announced it is buying 23andMe out of bankruptcy for $256 million โ taking with it the companyโs extensive trove of genetic samples and data.
It will acquire 23andMeโs Personal Genome Service, Total Health and Research Services and its large biobank, including genetic data of more than 15 million customers โ raising privacy concerns from individuals who had willingly handed over the samples to completely different owners.
All of 23andMeโs genetic testing services will continue uninterrupted, and the deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025 pending bankruptcy court and regulatory approvals, Regeneron said.
The Tarrytown, New York-based pharmaceutical company pledged to remain compliant with 23andMeโs consumer-privacy rules and vowed to work with a court-appointed ombudsman who will investigate the matter.
