Have you ever thought about why it is called a pull request when you are actually sending a merge request?
what do you think about this idea?
an app that has a pop up feature like an app called LookUp that lets you ask AI about a new word you don't know but the catch is you select the whole sentence instead of a word like we usually do.
why because π π ? for searching words there is a dictionary. you can use that but it won't tell you the context. But AI can help here.
I thought of this because i struggle with new words and how they are used in a sentence when i read books

So I have been procrastinating a lot to update my resume and make a minimal portfolio/blog webapp. But today with some useful resources I was able to finish both of them.
- Resume
1. I used [sheetsresume]. It is the one of the highest rated resume templates. You can check their website and the reddit post which you can get from the website.
2. After I finished my first draft. I used a website called [resumeworded] which scores your resume and gives you suggestions that can be improved. After some back and forth I got mine to be 65 (The best ones are above 90 btw)
- Portfolio
1. I got this github repo called [Astro Nano] that has really cool portfolio and blog webapp built using astro.
2. So, I modified some things and filled my own info (blogs, work and projects)
You should really give them a try. They are good !!
Here is my portfolio if you want to check it out

My resume is also in my portfolio you can get it there. βπΏ

This is by far the best on-boarding screen I have ever seen π₯π₯.
It's an app called [Affine], an open-source alternative to Notion.

[uboa] is an awesome tool made by someone here in Ethiopia. It's a load testing CLI tool and I love CLI tools π.
I used it at work yesterday and it's great. Try it if you need load testing for your services.

Haven't posted lately. I am mainly taking a well deserved rest but also
1. Contributed to [ScholArxiv] by [Dagmawibabi] (just minor bug fixes)
2. Started working on the contextify project, which i shared the idea here. searching meaning of a word without losing the context

What you think about this logo π€? I just made it using Figma for some project. > Dont be like me. > Starting from the logo instead of actually coding it (skill issues)ππ
I tried this first.

It's good if you want to go from text prompt to some kind of result and iterate on that

So after 27 hrs of building contextify(I know... skill issuesπ). I have something to show you as a small demo.
I keep calling it an app but its a webapp actually as a PWA (Progressive Web App) which means you can install it and stuff.
In the above video I tried to show you the basic use case of the app which is searching the meaning of a word with its context (sentence).
Copy the sentence to the app and then
1. Just select the word you want to know the meaning of then hit send.
2. or wrap the word in asteriks ** like (*awesome*)
That's it! If you are not sure which word you selected click the eye icon. It is a preview popup which lets you check the actual prompt that will be sent to gemini(Yes I am using gemini)
Please try it and give me your feedback here or on github issues. I believe there are a lot of things to be improved. Thanks ππΏ
