βWhat are some good logical paradoxes?
Answer π‘
The Rich Guest Paradox
I read it somewhere and I dont remember its exact name so I made this one up. Here goes the paradox:
There is a very poor quaint little town where everyone is in a huge debt with someone but with no money to pay for it.
There is hotel which is hardly seeing any business anymore. They are to soon shut it down.
One day a very wealthy American guest shows up and he wants to spend a night there. However before he confirms he asks for a tour of the hotel.
The receptionist asks for a security deposit which the American can take back in case he doesnβt like the rooms. The guest obliges.
It turns out by matter of luck this is the exact amount that the hotel owed to the chef as salary for three months which they hadnβt been able to pay. They gave the cash to the chef.
The chef saw that this was the exact amount of cash he owed the grocer for months of groceries he hadnβt been able to pay for. He paid the grocer.
The grocer realized it was the exact amount he owed the doctor for treating his wifeβs arthritis.
The doctor paid the money to the nurse for two months of service he couldnβt pay for.
The nurse was new to the town so she had been staying in the hotel for a few days before she found a house to rent. She too was poor and couldnβt pay the hotel at that time. The money she received from the doctor was exactly what she owed the hotel so she paid.
Now the hotel had got back the exact amount it had paid the chef. Now the guest has finished his tour of the rooms. Turns out he doesnβt like it. He takes back his security deposit from the hotel and leaves, never to be seen again.
So everyone's debt has been paid, but nothing is different from before.
No one has earned anything. But now everyone is happy.
Did the debt really exist at all?

I really really want to thank ChatGPT, not because it answers my questions but because of how it lets me explain my problem thoroughly so that I can get the best answer. And sometimes I get the solution while explaining it π. Isn't that something?

These are the Ethiopian tech channels I surf around in telegram. To be honest, it becomes tiring sometimes. Some are High School students, younger mnamn. you might sometimes get into an existential crisis ππand also too motivated some other times. So use them wisely π.

Patience and Hope I don't know what it really is but when i read the count of Monte cristo there was a line that goes "The human intelligence is compressed in these two words - Patience and Hope". As I was reading it, it didn't hit me like it does today.β¦
I don't think u guys remember this post where I yap about my skill issues π€£π€£.
Anyways, to recap I wanted to build Unofficial [BDU-SIMS-API] (SIMS - Student Information Management System) where you can get Your general grade status for all the years, Your detail grade status for a specific semester and the remaining courses you have to take before you graduate.
I did it and surprisingly we used it when we were doing an assignment for our Mobile App Development course where we build an app called [BiT-Connect].
Today I got some time to do stuff and I am containerizing this API with Docker since Docker is on my 'Must Learn' list. I will post what I learned and also the result.

If I like a song, that is because it has some great hook or the melody is catchy or just I liked the mood. I am not a lyrics person. The voice is just an instrument playing notes to me. I always try to find melody in the singers voice not words.

I containerized the api, but I am stuck with one error.
Puppeteer, which is a scraping package for JS needs a chrome instance to work. So, I need a chrome instance in my docker container. I am currently figuring that out.

"Boredom is a filter. Common ideas come before it. Uncommon ideas come after it. Sit with a project long enough to get bored with it, then sit a little more. The most useful insights bubble up after you get bored."
-- From James Clear's newsletter
From experience this thing is so true. Starting from writing essays back in the day when I was applying for unis to these days working on my projects I always get bored first before coming up with a great idea. But the problem is I reach for my phone before boredom hits. So that means no great idea.
Please, be free from any instant dopamine hit when working on important projects coz the first step is getting bored !!
