you're in a javascript interview 😊

The Interviewer asks you this

Explain the concept of Async/Await in Javascript

Don't know how to answer? Read thisπŸ‘‡

Asynchronous Code:

Async/Await is a feature in JavaScript that streamlines the handling of asynchronous operations.

e.g fetching data from a server or reading a file.

It provides a more readable and concise syntax compared to callbacks or Promises.

Async Functions:

By marking a function as async, you indicate that it contains asynchronous operations.

This allows you to use the await keyword within that function to pause execution until a promise is resolved.

Improving Readability:

One of the benefits of Async/Await is its ability to enhance code readability.

It mitigates the callback hell problem and allows

developers to write asynchronous code in a more structured manner.

Error Handling:

Async/Await simplifies error handling by enabling the use of traditional try-catch-finally blocks.

This makes it easier to manage errors in asynchronous code.

Imagine you’re building a React app.

How do you decide between these two options:

1. Traditional SPA
2. React Server Components (RSC)

SPA benefits:

βœ… Proven and mature.
βœ… Lets us use more of the React ecosystem of third party libraries.
βœ… Simple. Easy to understand.
βœ… Cheaper and easier to host.

RSC benefits:

βœ… Likely renders the first page faster.
βœ… Likely saves bandwidth (each RSC adds zero K to bundle).
βœ… Use heavy libraries solely on the server to save bandwidth
βœ… Requires less code for data fetching (may even call the DB directly instead of hitting an API).

Given these tradeoffs, if we already have a REST/GraphQL API, or we want cheap, simple hosting, I lean toward SPA.

If we don’t have a web API, or performance is critical, I lean toward RSC.

Coding is not meant for the weak

It's meant for one with passion

It's meant for one who can endure failures

It's meant for one who feels he/she doesn't understand any programming language and wants to dig deep.

It's meant for one who can deal with bugs

It's meant for you.
