Ahead of the Toast Day starting tomorrow Agents are reporting that the Toast Glyph has already invaded the Portal Network and Glyph Hacks can now include sequences with and around the Toast Glyph!

Niantic Spatial has released Update 3.5.1 yesterday!

The Release Notes mention two fixes: One quite old bug in which Ingress would take over the audio priority of the device and pause any currently playing audio was fixed, and a newer bug in which medals that got the Redux treatment show a single tier in their details was also fixed.

Additionally, while not mentioned, the description box while nominating new Portals can now be filled with 512 characters again. The update prior to this one limited the box to just 250 characters, halving the available space.

Two new Campaigns are inbound!

Running for a full month, the Bad Cat and Good Cat Campaigns will need you to complete 3 out of 5 Bounties to unlock the new Bad Cat 2026 and Good Cat 2026 Medals respectively. Going by the description of these Campaigns, the Bad Cat Campaign is focused on destroying stuff, while the Good Cat Campaign focuses on building things.

Both Campaigns will run from March 6th, 18:00 UTC to April 6th, 18:00 UTC.

Well, the years Campaigns start comin' and they don't stop comin'-

A new Campaign is on its way to the Scanner. Named simply "The Aberration" it will run at the same time as the Bad Cat and Good Cat Campaigns. What exactly this campaign will consist of is not clear, but given that it doesn't show "[PREMIUM]" in front of its listing it will likely be a free Campaign.

This Campaign will run from March 6th, 18:00 UTC to April 6th, 18:00 UTC.

Agents are reporting that the Scanner and the Intel Map are currently having problems!

This may not be isolated to just Ingress as a lot of other services and sites are also getting reports of issues and outages.

First reports of Agents being able to log in again are coming in, although the Scanner is still quite slow. The issues should be resolved relatively soon.

Agents are reporting smooth operations once again, save for some hiccups on daily bounties. The systems should catch up in just a little while.

Agents in contact with Niantic Spatial were able to confirm that the company is aware of the situation that Ingress players now can no longer use the Geospartial Browser to search for and activate VPS POIs, effectively barring them from activating new Overclock Portals.

Spatial confirms that, while there currently isn't a replacement available for this process, there will be more details to be shared soon, with the team trying to keep everyone updated once they have more to announce.

The update to this is apparently removing Overclock all together, together with once again pausing OPR and new submissions/edits.

Overclock as well as all ways to edit, report or submit a Portal have just been removed. opr.ingress.com now redirects to ingress.com, as it has also been shut down for now.

The Portal Sync that has been paused for the last few days has just gone through. This is possibly the last Portal Sync for quite a while with the game board now considered static with Portal details locked until a new version of Recon or similar goes online sometime in the future.

Reporting Portals is also not possible in the Scanner anymore, however the option still exists when creating a ticket via support.ingress.com. It is unknown at the moment if Portals will be removed from the database that way and, if so, if they will also be removed from the game via a sync.

With the next Ingress update, you will be able to switch the medal sorting of your profile!

In addition to the current chronological order with newest medals/tiers on top, you'll also be able to sort your profile medals by Categories! What exactly the medals will be categorized by is not known at the moment, as well if this sorting will be visible to other Agents or only to yourself.

⚠ Do note that the screenshots of the profile above were created by an Agent as a mockup a year ago and might not represent how Niantic Spatial decided to implement this feature.

Niantic Spatial has released Ingress 3.6.1, and as it turns out the mockup above is pretty much how the team implemented it!

A new button is (or will be) visible in your profile that will sort your badges by these categories:

- Anomaly Seasons
- XM Anomalies
- Collectibles
- Global Ops
- Anniversaries
- Limited Editions

Which badges belong to which categories is not yet known and will take the community a little bit of time to collect.

The toggle is also visible when looking at the profile of another Agent, meaning everyone can decide for themselves how they want to view a particular profile.

⚠️ Note that while Agents are already getting access to the update and a few can see the toggle, a lot of Agents are also reporting that the toggle is missing for them even on the newest Update. We will let you know once this is fixed or Spatial gives us a heads up about it.
