β. As per the 1961 Census, India had more than 1652 mother tongues, genetically belonging to five different language families. The 1991 Census had 10400 raw returns of mother tongues and they were rationalized into 1576 mother tongues. After further rationalizing in the Census 2001, there is a total of 122 languages and 234 mother tongues in the country. However, there are 22 scheduled languages as per the eighth schedule of the Constitution of India.

She gave 120 dates to the victim Atul in 2 yrsβi.e 1 date every 5th or 6th day off the week to humiliate him.
The judge demanded Rs 5 Lakh from the victim man to settle the matter (as per the statement signed by him).
Imagine a person travelling from Bangalore to UP every week for court hearing only to bear harrasment and get another date.
