Puzzle - вообще любая неочевидная задача на подумать, может быть даже математическая (обычная математическая задача - problem, да, в школе children solve math’s problems, у них на это куча шуток в духе «математика, решай свои проблемы сама»)
Jigsaw puzzle - это уже пазл в нашем представлении, когда из кусочков нужно собрать картинку
Теперь про действия:
Put pieces/parts together - собрать
Take pieces/parts apart - разобрать
В jigsaw puzzles детали можно еще назвать tiles 🧩
Не details, details - это чаще подробности и аспекты
Остальные puzzles (word puzzles, logical puzzles, etc.) решают с глаголом solve
