😁 Guide to creating a project from Vitalik Buterin

Crypto projects from celebrities are a fairly common occurrence.

Popular influencers, developers, artists and similar personalities sooner or later create their own project, or promote it through their social networks.

The founder of Ethereum posted a small guide on how such projects can earn his respect:

1. The project must have some purpose for the benefit of society that it pursues, in addition to the enrichment of the celebrity himself and the early participants. This could be either an art project, a celebrity charity, or both.

2. It should have some interesting mechanics that go beyond simple token trading. Even though I don't like voting tokens in DAOs, they still give people the opportunity to do something and rally around something. The DAO shouldn't completely set the agenda, but it can have some influence.

3. Create something that will last for more than 10 years, not just make noise for a few months and then be forgotten.

The main goal should be to create a project in which people will enjoy participating, even if the tokens are reset. Regular businesses and charities achieve this goal all the time!

☝️ It would seem that these “rules” look quite simple, but, unfortunately, many developers cannot achieve even a couple of points from this list and create stillborn cryptocurrencies.

For our part, we can give a little advice to crypto investors: when choosing a project, pay attention to what the developers emphasize and whether the token makes sense at all, besides simple speculation.

For example, if a team constantly writes about the prospects for the growth of tokens and promises large annual interest rates for staking, it is better to pass by.

GameFi was one of the loudest narratives in the last cycle.

Some spent their days “walking” crypto sneakers, while others quit their jobs to farm in the game Axies Infinity full time.
