Elon Musk is building a giant Artificial Intelligence (AI) supercomputing cluster called 'Cortex' at his gigafactory in Austin, Texas. This supercluster is designed to support Tesla's advancements in Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and the Optimus robot.

The facility will house around 100,000 NVIDIA H100 and H200 chips to train Tesla's neural networks.

The goal is to improve and accelerate the training of Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, which will enable Tesla vehicles to make more accurate and safe decisions when driving.

Tesla also plans to use 'Cortex' to develop and refine its humanoid robot, Optimus. This robot is designed to perform repetitive manual tasks, initially in factories and then in other environments.
