Apple to allow users to download apps directly from developers' websites
Apple will allow European users to download iPhone applications from web platforms for the first time as it moves to step into line with European Union rules targeting Big-Tech dominance.
The EU's Digital Markets Act, which went into force this month, requires all major platforms, including Alphabet, Google, Apple and others to follow its requirements which target their dominance, or face significant penalties of as much as 10% of a company’s annual worldwide revenue or up to 20% for repeat offenders. Former Treasury Secretary Might Buy TikTok
Former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is building an investor group to buy TikTok.
"I think the legislation should pass and I think it should be sold," Mnuchin said, referring to the bill that passed the House of Representatives that could force ByteDance to divest from TikTok or face a ban in the US.
"It’s a great business and I’m going to put together a group to buy TikTok," he said.
"This should be owned by US businesses. There's no way that the Chinese would ever let a US company own something like this in China," Mnuchin said. (RT)

The court in Spain has decided to block Telegram throughout the country, as reported by the publication elDiario.
Media platforms complained about the messenger, stating that Telegram illegally hosts their content. The judge ruled in their favour after the messenger failed to respond to the Spanish judiciary's request.
All internet providers must comply with the decision to block Telegram. The publication believes this will happen by Monday.
Telegram has around 8.5 million users in Spain, approximately 18% of the population. Consumer rights organisations are already talking about the "enormous damage" that this court decision could cause to "millions of users, as well as companies, organisations, government and private institutions that distribute content legally through their channels on this platform."
Initiatives to block Telegram have also been discussed recently in Ukraine too.
