*CBSE Class X Board Examinations from 2026: Key Highlights*
• Two Board Exams Annually: Students can appear for Class X Board Exams up to two times a year: a main examination and an optional improvement examination.
• Mandatory First Exam: All students must appear in the first Board examination.
• Improvement Opportunity: Students can improve their performance in up to three subjects (Science, Math, Social Science, Languages) in the second examination.
• Eligibility for Second Exam: The second exam is primarily for improvement or for students with compartment results from the first exam.
• Important Condition: Students who miss 3 or more subjects in the first exam will not be allowed to appear in the second exam and will be placed in the "Essential Repeat" category.
• Schedule: The main exam will be in mid-February, and the second exam in May.
• Syllabus: Both examinations will be based on the full syllabus.
• Result Declaration: First exam results in April, second exam results in June.
• Final Document: The final passing document and merit certificate will be issued only after the second examination results.
• Class XI Admission: Provisional admission to Class XI is allowed for students awaiting second exam results.
