Chandrayaan-3 Mission:

All planned Rover movements have been verified. The Rover has successfully traversed a distance of about 8 meters.

Rover payloads LIBS and APXS are turned ON.

All payloads on the propulsion module, lander module, and rover are performing nominally.

Chandrayaan-2's original plan was to be launched on GSLV MK2 with Russian lander and Indian rover.
But Russia refused to go ahead with this project post Fobos-grunt failure.
PM Narendra Modi will visit ISTRAC at Bengaluru on 26/8/23 immediately after returning from his foreign visit at 7:15am.
According to some sources he will reveal name of Vikram's landing site.

- The designated landing site for Chandrayaan 3 is referred to as "ShivaShakthi Point."
- The impact location of Chandrayaan 2 on the moon is named "Tiranga Point."
- August 23rd has been chosen to be observed as "National Space Day."

These announcements were made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to ISTRAC, ISRO's tracking center.
