💫 Sayyid al-Istighfār: The Best Prayer for Seeking Forgiveness

Narrated Shaddād ibn Aws رضي الله عنه: The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allāh is:

اللهم أنت ربي، لا إله إلا أنت ، خلقتني وأنا عبدك، وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعت أبوء لك بنعمتك علي، وأبوء بذنبي، فاغفر لي فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت

The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise."

[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6306]

Transliteration: Allāhumma anta rabbī, lā ilāha illā ant, khalaqtanī wa-anā ʿabduk, wa-anā ʿalā ʿahdika wa-waʿdika mā’istaṭaʿt, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿt, abūʾu laka bi-niʿmatika ʿalayy, wa-abūʾu laka bidhanbī, fa’ighfir lī, fa-innahu lā yaghfir al-dhunūba illā ant.

Translation: O Allāh, You are my Lord, there is no God but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise (to honour it) as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for surely none can forgive sins but You.

Narrated Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه‎ that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

"Our Lord, the Blessed, the Superior, comes every night down on the nearest Heaven to us when the last third of the night remains, saying:

"Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him?"

[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1145]

Surely for Muslim men and women, believing men and women, devout men and women, truthful men and women, patient men and women, humble men and women, charitable men and women, fasting men and women, men and women who guard their chastity, and men and women who remember Allāh often - for all of them Allāh has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.

[Sūrah al-ʾAḥzāb, Verse 35]

Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying that Allāh, the Exalted and Glorious, thus stated:

“I am near to the thought of My servant as he thinks about Me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. And if he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My Heart, and if he remembers Me in assembly I remember him in assembly, better than his (remembrance), and if he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by the cubit, and if he draws near Me by the cubit I draw near him by the space (covered by) two hands. And if he walks towards Me, I rush towards him.”

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2675a]

🚨 Ladybird Books, one of the UK’s largest book publishers for children shared an LGBT Pride post featuring a ‘Muslim’ woman wearing a hijab.

The post contained an image of a Muslim woman wearing a hijab and carrying a baby, alongside another woman, depicting them as a couple. it included the caption: "Everyone should be free to be themselves, no matter who they are or who they love."

Homosexual acts and same sex relationships are forbidden in Islam. Pride in any sin is an act of disbelief.

Narrated Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī: The Prophet ﷺ said,

"If one recites the last two verses of Sūrah al-Baqarah at night, it is sufficient for him (for that night)."

[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5040]

Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī رضي الله عنه reported that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said:

“If you were not to commit sins, Allah would have swept you out of existence and would have replaced you by another people who have committed sin, and then asked forgiveness from Allah, and He would have granted them pardon.”

[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2748b]

We did not send messengers before you [O Prophet] except mere men inspired by Us. If you [polytheists] do not know this already, then ask those who have knowledge of the Scriptures.

We did not give those messengers supernatural bodies that did not need food, nor were they immortal.

Then We fulfilled Our promise to them, saving them along with whoever We willed and destroying the transgressors.

We have surely revealed to you a Book, in which there is glory for you. Will you not then understand?

[Sūrah al-ʾAnbiyāʾ, Verse 7-10]

A seven-month-old Palestinian baby, Sam Abu Haikal, was killed after Isr*eli troops opened fire on his family's car in the Tel Rumeida area of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. According to his family, they had slowed down and stopped after seeing Isr*eli soldiers ahead when gunfire struck the vehicle. A bullet reportedly passed through the windshield, wounded Sam's father and mother, and fatally struck the infant, who later died from his injuries.

The Isr*eli military said soldiers believed the vehicle was accelerating towards them and fired after perceiving a threat. However, the army later acknowledged that the casualties were uninvolved civilians and launched an investigation into the incident. Footage released after the shooting appears to show the family's car slowing down near the military position, raising further questions about the army's initial account and prompting renewed calls for accountability.
