Saudi Arabia is moving forward with plans to build a new airport in Makkah, part of a broader effort to upgrade transport infrastructure and enhance the experience for pilgrims.

Plans for both a new airport and an expanded metro system are already underway, signalling a major transformation in how the city will serve millions of visitors each year.

🚨 Quran.com the world's most popular Quran website removed Mishari Alafasy as its default Quran reciter after comments posted by him supporting Trump's attacks on Iran.

Mishari posted on his official X account: "الرئيس ترامب سيفتح أبواب الجحيم على إيران"

Translating: "President Trump will open the gates of hell on Iran"

Shortly afterwards, Quran.com removed him as the default Quran reciter on their website. Although the audio of his recitation still exists on the website, it is not the default choice when a user wishes to listen to verses of the Quran.

Masjid al-ʾAqṣā has been forcibly closed by the occupation forces for over a month.

Muslims were banned from praying inside the masjid throughout Ramaḍān and also Eid prayers.
