Always have good thoughts of Allah

Anxiety is the fear or worry we experience about events that have not yet taken place.

If we can take a moment to remember that Allah is the Creator of all things, that He has complete wisdom behind everything that happens, and that everything that happens is good for us, this can be a really big help in addressing anxiety.

HEAD TO HEAD — ROUND 2 is here.

After the huge response to their first discussion, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi and Shaykh Dr Haitham al-Haddad return for a deeper conversation on one of the biggest questions facing Muslims today:

Can Muslims change the West without changing Islam?

This time, they discuss the future of Muslims in Britain and the West, political engagement, belonging, reform, minority fiqh, the far right, hijrah, converts, marriage, scholarly disagreement — and how Muslims can build a lasting legacy without compromising the dīn.

A serious, timely and much-needed discussion.

Feeling disconnected from yourself or the world around you can be deeply unsettling.

This is all we need to do

All we need to do is strive to be the best people we can be. If success follows, we should thank Allah while remaining humble, recognising that it is not solely the result of our own efforts.

Likewise, when things do not go as we had hoped, we should not shoulder all the blame. Our response should be one of shukr (gratitude) in times of ease and sabr (patience and perseverance) in times of hardship.

The Uyghur genocide did not begin with the camps.

Decades before mass detention became global headlines, the Chinese state had already laid the foundations through colonial policies, economic exclusion, surveillance, and a brutal crackdown in Ürümqi.

In this detailed analysis, Abdulhakim Idris traces how the 5 July 2009 massacre became a turning point on the road to genocide — and why understanding this history matters now more than ever.

People only see what Allah has chosen to conceal!

Be around good people

Who you relate with, shapes the way you are.

We need to surround ourselves with those who understand us, even if we do not feel able to open up about our challenges, about that which makes us anxious or lowers our mood, because those people will often help us get out of those tough times, by the will of Allah.
