📱Next-generation Apple CarPlay is not going to be used in Mercedes-Benz cars

This was announced by Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius on The Verge's Decoder podcast. According to him, the car's operating system is now responsible not only for infotainment functions, but also for autonomous driving, chassis, battery performance and many other components, so creating a "superior customer experience" is only possible when all aspects are the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Even though Apple announced Mercedes-Benz as its partner at the launch of the new CarPlay back in 2022, the auto giant plans to develop its own operating system. Mercedes' next-generation OS is scheduled to debut in 2025.

Meanwhile, support for first-generation CarPlay, which is a small add-on for controlling multimedia in the car, will remain in Mercedes cars.

🎧 Apple announces new models of wireless headphones – Beats Solo Buds and Beats Solo 4

The new Beats Solo Buds pack a truly wireless design with an impressive 18 hours of battery life and $79.99 price. The buds are charged using a USB-C cable – you can even charge from your iPhone.
These represent the most affordable wireless earbuds that Apple or Beats has released to date.

Solo 4 will cost $200 in the U.S., but they don't have an active noise cancellation. Instead, the company offers ergonomic acoustic earpieces that are supposed to protect against outside noise.
Battery life is promised to be up to 50 hours on one charge, and with Fast Fuel you get up to 5 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.

Solo Buds will go on sale in June, Solo 4 headphones are already available for pre-order.

💰Apple announces $110 billion stock buyback, biggest in history

The world's largest company by market capitalization intends to repurchase shares worth $110 billion, surpassing its own previous record of $100 billion that it announced in 2018. In fact, six out of the top 10 buybacks in US history belong to Apple, while three belong to Google's parent Alphabet.
