๐Ÿ“ฐ Major redesign for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max

๐Ÿ‘‚ The Information reported, citing its insiders, that in addition to the iPhone 17 Air, which should become the thinnest iPhone in the lineup, other iPhone 17 models will get a new case design.

๐Ÿ” These will be significant changes:
First of all, all devices will switch to aluminum frames instead of steel and titanium for some reason. The back panel of the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models will have a new part-aluminum and part-glass design: the top half of the back panel will consist of a rectangular (still) protruding camera unit, but now in aluminum instead of glass (looks like it will become like iPad Pro M4). The bottom half will remain glass to support MagSafe wireless charging.

๐Ÿ“ฑ About the iPhone 17 Air
Insiders specify that in all current prototypes, which are 5 to 6 mm thick there is no SIM card tray. That is, it is expected to support only eSIM for all regions, but in question so far remains China, Hong Kong and Macau, where traditionally sold devices with two physical nanoSIM.

๐Ÿ“ฑ More on the prototypes
One of the iPhone 17 Air prototypes only has a single speaker grid on the bottom edge. And another prototype of the ultra-thin iPhone has a single rear camera placed not in the usual corner, but in the center. However, these are just considered variants and everything can still change, because these are early prototypes, and the release of the new model is just under a year away.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ Apple is working hard to launch Apple Intelligence in China

๐Ÿ“ˆ Tim Cook traveled to China for the China International Supply Chain Expo, where he will present the company's future strategy to local ministers and technology partners.

I value them [our local partners] very highly. We couldn't do what we do without them. I'm proud to be here and Apple has something to present to our partners here.

said Tim at the expo to Chinese media.

๐Ÿค Tim also arrived in China to meet with the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Qiang. The purpose of the meeting is described by local sources as the preparation of regulatory requirements and conditions for their implementation, which will form the basis for the launch of new Apple services in China.

๐Ÿ’ฌ According to Cook, โ€œApple is now working hard to launch Apple Intelligence in Chinaโ€. Therefore, Apple and the CEO himself, as part of his trip to China, may be involved in discussions with several Chinese tech companies, including search giant Baidu, ByteDance (the Chinese division of TikTok) and AI startup Moonshot, to incorporate some of their features into Apple Intelligence within China, as required by local law.

๐Ÿ˜‰ There's a very long and complicated process ahead, but after face-to-face talks between Apple representatives and Chinese partners and ministers things could move much faster.

๐Ÿฅฝ Apple Vision Pro has been developed since at least 2008

๐Ÿ“† A 2008 patent shows that the company had been working on Vision Pro for at least 15 years before it finally launched. Both the patent drawing and the description of the device are remarkably consistent with the product that finally launched in 2024.

๐Ÿ“ˆ The display technology needed to turn the idea into reality didnโ€™t even exist then, but Apple still had a clear vision of what it wanted to achieve โ€“ and was prepared to keep developing it until it finally was feasible, albeit at a very high price.

๐ŸŒ The big question now is how much longer it will take for the company to be able to offer a more affordable Apple Vision product without making too many compromises along the way. The most recent reporting suggests Apple has put this project on the back-burner for now as it focuses on a 2nd-gen Pro device likely to be powered by an M5 chip.

๐Ÿ Among new features that visionOS 2 brought there is Panoramic productivity with Mac Virtual Display that allows you to use your MacBook display around you.

๐Ÿฅฝ Like many other 'yummy' features from Apple the one above 'coming later this year'. All updates in the new visionOS can be found here.

โšฝ Soccer on Apple Vision Pro LIVE

๐Ÿ“ฐ Apple is in talks with ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Real Madrid FC and plans to hold the first immersive broadcast of a match. According to Spanish sports publication Marca, the president of Real Madrid soccer club, Florentino Perez, has revealed talks with Apple. One of the ideas discussed was the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid, which is still undergoing renovations, could get a technical innovation with Apple. Although he did not elaborate on the details, it is likely to be immersive video broadcasts of matches specifically for Apple Vision Pro. Apple has its own dedicated cameras to capture Apple Immersive video, but there have never been live broadcasts in this format yet.

๐ŸŽค Florentino Perez:
Everyone wants to get inside the Santiago Bernabeu, but the number of seats even after the renovation is limited and that's why we are in talks with Apple to be able to carry Apple Vision Pro and watch the match as if you were right inside the stadium. It would be a real infinite Santiago Bernabeu!

๐ŸŽฅ Wallace and Gromit star in a festive stop-motion animation, shot on iPhone 16 Pro

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Apple announced that a new stop-motion animation featuring Wallace & Gromit will be projected onto London's Battersea Power Station this holiday season. Academy Award-winning creators Aardman used the powerful camera system to turn their 23-centimetre characters into a 101-metre projection for station.

๐Ÿ“ The festive, six-minute video will be shown every day from 5 pm to 10:30 pm until New Year's Eve. It is free to watch, and reservations are not needed.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Apple is promoting the animation as part of its latest "Shot on iPhone" campaign. Aardman filmed the stop-motion video with the Telephoto camera on eight iPhone 16 Pro Max devices.

๐Ÿ“ฐ Apple orders M5 chips from TSMC ahead of late 2025 production

๐Ÿ˜ Apple has ordered M5 chips from TSMC as the company begins production development of its next-generation processor for future devices, claims a new Korean-language report by The Elec.

๐Ÿ†™ The technology of the new chip will remain 3nm, but will be improved, which will slightly improve performance. The chips will be assembled in the second half of 2025, and the first devices will be released at the end of the year: Apple Vision Pro, iPad Pro and MacBook Pro.

๐Ÿ†• Apple Store has opened in Madrid

๐Ÿ“ New pin on the map is Apple Store La Vaguada and this is the fifth in Madrid, twelfth in the country, but the newest in 10 years in the Spanish capital.

๐Ÿ” Inside, the decoration is already familiar to other new stores of the company in wood and recyclable eco-friendly materials, but this design has not yet been in any Apple store in Spain.

๐Ÿ‘ The new store features Pickup and Today at Apple areas for the first time, as well as a revamped Genius Bar area and even an Apple Watch Studio. In addition, the store has become the most spacious in the entire chain in Madrid.

๐Ÿ†“ Traditionally, all first-time visitors to Apple La Vaguada were given a blue shopper with the new store's logo.

๐Ÿ”‰ Great reflection for creative people from Apple, and most importantly for free

๐Ÿ“ฑ Today it's hard to imagine your life without a smartphone, and for some people it is without iPhone. Business people and fans of chips with AI have not long to wait because iOS 18.2 is on its way โ€“ it is promised next week.

๐ŸŽต In the meantime, you can reflect on your year with Apple Music, because the music we listen to every day reflects what's going on inside of us. It's true that some people just turn on the radio for background, others listen to what everyone else listens to. But for those who have a collection of music and the moods it creates such a โ€œNew Year's giftโ€ from Apple will be a genuine pleasure.

๐Ÿ”Ž Apple Music Replay โ€“ by tapping on the link, logging into your profile, you can see clearly how your musical year went, how many minutes and songs you listened to, your achievements, the top artists and much more. It is very useful that you can see your top artist for each month, and, run through the whole year: what happened in your life in this month and to what soundtracks.

๐ŸŽ Third-party services (like Spotify) have similar โ€œReplaysโ€, but it seems that only Apple has its talent to present the information about you in such a stylish way.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Share screenshots of Apple Music Replay in the comments, but if you don't want everyone to know your most magical music, keep your personalized highlight reel for yourself.

๐Ÿ“ฑ iPhone 17 Pro will remain with a titanium frame

๐Ÿ’ฌ An Instant Digital insider on Chinese Weibo (who previously successfully predicted a yellow iPhone 14, cameras for shooting spatial video in the iPhone 15 Pro, and matte rear glass in the iPhone 15/15 Plus) has spoken out about rumors of an aluminum frame in the iPhone 17 Pro.

๐Ÿ‘ Interestingly, his opinion coincided with the opinion of one of our subscribers, who in a comment under the post was wondering how Apple could switch to such a soft metal.

Why would anyone believe that the iPhone 17 Pro will go to aluminum? I have one thought about it โ€“ it's just not possible. Looking back at recent iPhone models, it's worth remembering how Apple has consistently emphasized the premium frame materials of the Pro series as a key marketing point, from โ€œsurgical stainless steelโ€ to โ€œtitanium.โ€ If they switched to aluminum, how could they even sell it? Of course, it's the iPhone 17 Pro models that will still use titanium.

โ€“ the leaker claims.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Steve Jobs Tim Cook on Apple's legacy, saving humanity, the past and the future

โœ๏ธ Tim Cook had an interesting interview with Steven Levy of Wired about how Apple wants to literally save humanity's lives, how they came to AI, why they chose the name Apple Intelligence, whether there will be investments in OpenAI, what the future of the iPhone is, what's happening with Apple Vision Pro, what Tim misses, and Apple's legacy.

โ„น๏ธ Tim Donald Cook is 64 at the moment, and he's not just an aging grandfather, but a man in the prime of his life who isn't even thinking about leaving his position at the company he's been with since 1998 (26 years).

โ€“ Iโ€™ve heard you say that Apple Intelligence could make you funnier, which seems strange.
โ€“ I think it can make you friendlier, which, in many ways, can be funnier as well.

๐Ÿ“ฐ Read this โฌ†๏ธ and other interesting moments in the full interview.
