๐Ÿคช Same glassy look, finally with real control

A new transparency slider in iOS ๐ŸŽ lets you adjust Liquid Glass anywhere from fully opaque to completely clear, instead of one forced default. Apple also added a darkened edge around glass elements and brighter highlights for more depth, and refined app icons with sharper edges and integrated Liquid Glass layers.

New visuals ๐Ÿ‘ / ๐Ÿ‘Ž?

๐Ÿ“ฐ Apple may have accidentally revealed the iPhone Fold and a touchscreen MacBook in iOS 27 and macOS 27

๐Ÿค“ Bloombergโ€™s Mark Gurman examined the first beta versions of iOS 27 and macOS 27 and found signs that Apple is preparing two major new devices: a foldable iPhone and a MacBook with a touchscreen display.

๐Ÿ”Ž References such as foldState and angleDegrees, along with updates to the iPhone Mirroring app, point to support for wider interface layouts similar to those used on an unfolded foldable smartphone.

In macOS 27, changes to Sidecar and new gestures, including pull-to-refresh, suggest Apple is laying the groundwork for touch-based interaction on the desktop. Gurman also noted that the new pill-shaped Siri interface resembles Dynamic Island and could fit naturally into a future touchscreen MacBook experience.

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ While Apple has not commented on the findings, Gurman describes them as the first real evidence that both products are moving closer to launch.

๐Ÿคž According to current expectations, the iPhone Fold could debut as early as fall 2026, with a touchscreen MacBook potentially following shortly afterward.

๐Ÿ…ฐ๏ธ Apple is facing fresh privacy criticism over its new personalized App Store recommendations

๐Ÿค” The feature suggests apps based on user behavior, but reports reveal that Apple collects detailed App Store interaction data to power these recommendations โ€” including every screen tap and even typing speed. The findings come from data users can request through Apple's privacy portal.

๐Ÿ“ฐ According to researchers, this data collection is enabled by default and cannot be turned off, raising concerns about transparency and user consent.

๐Ÿคจ The biggest criticism? Apple has built its brand around protecting user privacy, yet users aren't explicitly asked to opt in before this level of behavioral data is collected.

๐Ÿ†• case for the upcoming foldable iPhone Ultra

๐Ÿ”Ž The case design suggests Apple isn't planning any radical changes to its accessories. Instead, the company appears to be sticking with the materials and overall approach iPhone users have become familiar with over the years.

Of course, this is still based on leaks, so take it with a grain of salt until Apple makes it official.

๐Ÿ’ธ Tim Cook warns Apple devices could become more expensive

๐Ÿ“ฐ Apple CEO Tim Cook said some Apple devices may see price increases due to a growing shortage of memory chips. Chipmakers are increasingly shifting production toward AI servers and data center infrastructure, reducing supply for consumer electronics.

๐Ÿญ Instead of building its own memory factories, Apple plans to secure long-term supply agreements with manufacturers worldwide. Some of these deals may require approval from U.S. regulators because of national security requirements.

๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Apple has not yet disclosed which devices could be affected by the potential price increases.

๐Ÿ“ฐ A major upgrade for the iPhone Air, expected to launch next spring

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ According to Mark Gurman, Apple is already actively testing the next-generation ultra-thin iPhone. The update is aimed at fixing two of the biggest complaints about the current model.

What's new:
โ€ข a second ultra-wide camera will be added;
โ€ข battery life will improve thanks to the new A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process.

โ€ข The device's dimensions are expected to remain unchanged, meaning the battery capacity will stay roughly the same. Instead, the longer battery life will come from the chip's improved power efficiency.

โ€ข It's still unclear whether Apple will also add a second speaker and a full-featured USB-C port.

๐Ÿ“† As we informed earlier, Apple is also changing its iPhone release strategy. This fall, only the flagship lineup is expected to debut, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the new foldable iPhone Ultra. The standard iPhone 18, second-generation iPhone Air, and iPhone 18e are now expected to arrive in spring 2027.

๐Ÿ˜ Samsung has started making displays for the foldable iPhone

โ˜๏ธ Meanwhile the fpt. channel has published the highest-quality and most detailed renders shown above, compiling all the leaks in one place.

๐Ÿ“ฐ According to The Elec, Samsung Display has received Apple's official approval and begun mass production of OLED modules for Apple's first foldable iPhone at its Vietnam facility.

Key details:
โ€ข Initial order: 3 million panels for delivery this year
โ€ข Production yield exceeded 80% (Apple's threshold is 70%)
โ€ข Samsung is Apple's exclusive supplier under a 3-year deal
โ€ข Panels feature CoE + M16 OLED tech โ€“ thinner and more power-efficient

๐Ÿ”ฉ The remaining wildcard is the hinge module, which sources say could affect the final launch timeline. A September debut is still possible, but late 2026 is the safer bet.

๐Ÿ’ธ Apple canโ€™t escape the AI chip crunch

We did warn you, though.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Apple has raised prices on most of its product lineup as the AI boom fuels massive demand for memory and storage chips, pushing component costs higher across the industry.

โ„น๏ธ Tim Cook has previously warned that price hikes were becoming increasingly difficult to avoid, with AI data centers competing for the same hardware used in consumer devices. So far, iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watches have avoided increases โ€“ but Apple says future pricing adjustments are still possible.

๐Ÿ’ป First touchscreen MacBook Pro will run on M5 Pro and M5 Max Chips

๐Ÿ“ฐ According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will release the first-ever touchscreen Mac laptops powered by the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max chips โ€“ skipping the next-gen M6 entirely.

๐Ÿ“† The new models will launch between late 2026 and early 2027, available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes (codenamed K114 and K116).

๐Ÿซ† What's new:
โ€ข OLED display with touch support (a first for Mac)
โ€ข Dynamic Island, iPhone-style
โ€ข Redesigned, thinner chassis
โ€ข Pricing expected to start at ~$4,000+

๐Ÿ”ฎ What's next:
Apple is already testing a second generation of touchscreen MacBooks โ€“ powered by M7 Pro and M7 Max chips with enhanced neural engines for AI workloads. Those are expected in late 2027. Notably, Apple has decided to skip M6 Pro and M6 Max altogether.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Gurman predicts the fall Apple Event's date

๐Ÿ“ฐ Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple is likely to hold its annual iPhone event on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

๐Ÿ“† The launch is usually supposed on the first Tuesday or Wednesday after Labor Day. This locks in September 8 as the most likely date, with September 9 the next likely possibility:
With that in mind, the most likely date for the debut of the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone is Sept. 8, with Sept. 9 as the runner-up.

๐Ÿค“ Either way, pre-orders are expected to open September 10-11.

P.S. The estimated price of the foldable
@iPhone starts at $2,000.

โŒš Apple Watch set for a major redesign in... 2027

๐Ÿ“ฐ According to Weibo leaker Instant Digital, Apple is preparing a serious overhaul of the Apple Watch lineup for 2027 โ€“ reviving long-standing rumors of the so-called "Apple Watch X." The key change: a new band attachment mechanism, which would break compatibility with current straps in order to free up internal space for a bigger battery.

๐Ÿ˜ Practical advice from the leaker: hold off on buying extra bands if you're planning to upgrade in 2027.

โ„น๏ธ Other rumored changes for the redesign include next-gen OLED display tech and a new health sensor array on the case's underside. Meanwhile, this year's flagship Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to bring only minor, incremental updates, carrying over the Series 10 design. Worth noting: similar "Apple Watch X" redesign rumors have circulated since 2023 (tied to the 10th anniversary) and never materialized โ€“ Apple shipped the Series 10 instead. So take the 2027 timeline with a grain of salt.
