IBPS PO interview experience
(Chitra Thokchom)
So, I opened the door and said ,"May I come in , Sir?”
Sir has said to come in and told me to close the door behind. Then I greeted Ma’am , before I could finish greeting them , they had already greeted me back and told me to sit .They asked me in hindi but I told them I don’t understand hindi and I would prefer english. But they still used hindi sometimes which was difficult for me to understand and that’s when the nervousness started. The Chairman even told me to be bold .
The questions asked are
✓My name and educational qualification.
- I told them I’m a graduate (I didn’t elaborate, was too nervous) So they asked to tell them completely if BA or BSc or BCom , so told them. And they asked what I’ve been doing after my graduation. ( I graduated in 2023 so I told them I’ve been preparing for this exam , they asked the year again)
✓What are intangible assets?
- I answered what it is but there was some seconds of silence so I thought my answer was too short and maybe they are waiting for me to tell more so gave wrong examples ( I know the correct examples though) so they told me not to add those examples if not asked because that’s when people start making mistakes.
✓What is refinance? (Told them)
✓What is MICR? (Told them about MCLR instead , they said no then I said sorry I was confused and told the correct answer).
✓MICR code details.
✓What is NPA? Types of NPA. (Told them)
✓What is MUDRA? (Told them in detail, I’ve told correctly till Kishore loans but told Tarun loans is up to 1 lakhs , they said "how 1 lakhs , you have said for kishore it is upto 5 lakhs , so I said sorry and told them 10 lakhs and also told them about Tarun plus)
✓MUDRA fullform .( forgot again so I told them I am not able to recall)
✓PNB merged with which bank ?
✓Which other banks have been merged ?( told them )
✓What are some monetary policy tools ?( told them SLR and CRR only)
✓What is SLR?( told them)
✓What is the validity of a cheque? A cheque passed its validity is called what? ( I was thinking for a while and I was about to say stale cheque but the chairman had said first before I could say it)
✓They asked something about political science , I was not able to grasp the question, it wasn’t clear to me .
✓What is DICGC? ( told them and instead of corporation , I said company)
[Is there any local food delivery service in your state? ( I told them we used swiggy and zomato, at that time I couldn’t think of any local delivery)
✓Are you ready to work anywhere in the country ? ( I told them Yes Sir)
Score :- 91.5/100

Sanchar Saathi Mandatory on All Phones – 5 Key Points
1️⃣ App Mandatory on Every New & Old Phone
• All smartphone makers must pre-install Sanchar Saathi on new devices and push it to older phones through updates.
• The app must stay visible, active, and non-removable.
• Deadline: 90 days for compliance, 120 days for reporting.
2️⃣ Why the Govt Is Enforcing It
• To curb rising telecom fraud: fake IMEIs, illegal SIMs, and misuse of stolen phones.
• The government says Sanchar Saathi will block stolen devices and improve telecom security.
3️⃣ What the App Allows Users to Do
• Block lost/stolen phones across networks.
• Check IMEI authenticity.
• See how many mobile numbers are linked to their documents.
• Report suspicious activity.
• Assist police in tracing misuse.
However, it asks for wide permissions (call logs, SMS, camera, network info), triggering privacy concerns.
4️⃣ How the System Works
• Connected to CEIR, India’s IMEI database.
• Blocking a device’s IMEI makes it unusable even with a new SIM.
• Govt claims CEIR has: recovered 7 lakh phones, blocked 37 lakh devices, and deactivated 3 crore fake connections.
5️⃣ Why It's Controversial
• Forced installation + cannot be deleted.
• Access to sensitive data raises surveillance fears.
• Critics say it could enable tracking of calls, messages, and location.
• Strong online backlash over privacy and civil liberties.

Very important for Interviews ☝️
Forwarded from Banking Library - RBI, SBI, IBPS
RBI Assistant Notification is expected in February/March 2026..
Should we begin Daily Tasks from scratch? The purpose is to cover the whole syllabus before its arrival, along with practice questions. But since, our major focus would shift to this exam, we need good participation.
It would be a waste of time and energy, if people don't even need it.
So we need at least 300 ❤️ (~10% votes) before we begin. Nothing less 🙏

Some IBPS PO interview candidates recently appeared for SBI PO Interview as well, and have this doubt - How different are both these Interviews?
Answer - It's not possible to determine the difficulty level, since this is a highly subjective matter, and depends on the panelists.
For some SBI is tougher, for others, IBPS.
However, based on our experience, you can expect the Questions to be less analytical in nature.
Obviously, SBI related questions are not important. (The only possibility is - Why not SBI?). Try to cover questions related to Top Three Banks of your preference.
• You need to focus on your background.
• Basic understanding of Banking Awareness might not be sufficient.
• Give special focus on HR questions. Almost every candidate struggles here.
Good Luck

Lok Sabha Passes Central Excise (Amendment) Bill 2025 – Key Highlights
The Lok Sabha has passed the Central Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2025 and the Health and National Security Cess Bill, 2025, creating a new tax system for sin goods such as tobacco, cigarettes, and pan masala. These laws are meant to replace the GST Compensation Cess, which ends on March 31, 2026, while ensuring continued revenue for public health and national security.
Objective of the Amendment
✓Ensure revenue continuity after the GST compensation cess ends.
✓Maintain high taxation on demerit goods such as tobacco and pan masala.
✓Redirect tax proceeds toward public health and national security.
✓Support repayment of loans taken during COVID-19 for compensating states.
Background
✓GST was introduced in July 2017 with a promise to compensate states for revenue loss.
✓This compensation was funded through a cess on sin and luxury goods.
✓Initially meant to end in 2022, the cess was extended till March 31, 2026 to repay pandemic-related loans.
✓Cess on most luxury goods ended in September 2025, but it continued for tobacco and pan masala.
✓The new excise-cess system will now replace the outgoing compensation cess.
What the New Laws Propose
1️⃣ Central Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2025
✓Introduces a fresh central excise duty on tobacco products, including:Cigarettes, cigars, cheroots, hookah tobacco, zarda, scented tobacco
✓₹5,000–₹11,000 per 1,000 cigarette sticks, depending on length
✓60–70% duty on unmanufactured tobacco
✓100% duty on nicotine and inhalation products
✓This duty will apply in addition to the existing 40% GST rate.
2️⃣ Health and National Security Cess Bill, 2025
✓Introduces a new dedicated cess on:
✓Pan masala
✓Any other products the government may notify later
The revenue will be used exclusively for:
Public health programmes
National security funding
This cess is not shareable with states.
Broader Impact & Significance
Ensures the overall tax burden on sin goods remains unchanged after the cess expires.
Continues the policy of discouraging harmful goods through high taxation.
Helps maintain fiscal discipline and repay pandemic-era loans.
Aligns India with global best practices of using taxes on health-risk products for social welfare.
