πŸ”±Present Perfect
🚫(Please note that British and American English have different rules for the use of this tense. The explanation and exercises here refer to British English. In American English, it is often acceptable to use the past simple in some of these examples.)🚫

✳️We use the present perfect when we want to look back from the present to the past.

✳️We can use it to look back on the recent past.

πŸ”…I've broken my watch so I don't know what time it is.
πŸ”…They have cancelled the meeting.
πŸ”…She's taken my copy. I don't have one.
πŸ”…The sales team has doubled its turnover.
βœ…When we look back on the recent past, we often use the words 'just' 'already' or the word 'yet' (in negatives and questions only).

πŸ”…We've already talked about that.
πŸ”…She hasn't arrived yet.
πŸ”…I've just done it.
πŸ”…They've already met.
πŸ”…They don't know yet.
πŸ”…Have you spoken to him yet?
πŸ”…Have they got back to you yet?
βœ…It can also be used to look back on the more distant past.

πŸ”…We've been to Singapore a lot over the last few years.
πŸ”…She's done this type of project many times before.
πŸ”…We've mentioned it to them on several occasions over the last six months.
πŸ”…They've often talked about it in the past.
βœ…When we look back on the more distant past, we often use the words 'ever' (in questions) and 'never'.

πŸ”…Have you ever been to Argentina?
πŸ”…Has he ever talked to you about the problem?
πŸ”…I've never met Jim and Sally.
πŸ”…We've never considered investing in Mexico.
πŸ”±Present Perfect Continuous
✳️This tense is used to talk about an action or actions that started in the past and continued until recently or that continue into the future:

βœ…We can use it to refer to an action that has finished but you can still see evidence.

πŸ”…Oh, the kitchen is a mess. Who has been cooking?
πŸ”…You look tired. Have you been sleeping properly?
πŸ”…I've got a a stiff neck. I've been working too long on computer.
βœ…It can refer to an action that has not finished.

πŸ”…I've been learning Spanish for 20 years and I still don't know very much.
πŸ”…I've been waiting for him for 30 minutes and he still hasn't arrived.
πŸ”…He's been telling me about it for days. I wish he would stop.

When I was a child, I heard voices...
Some would sing and some would scream
You soon find you have few choices...
I learned the voices died with me

When I was a child I'd sit for hours
Staring into open flames
Something in it - had a power,
Could barely tear my eyes away

All you have is your fire...
And the place you need to reach -
Don't you ever, tame your demons
But always keep them on a leash

[Humming]

When I was 16 my senses fooled me
Thought gasoline was on my clothes
I knew that something would always rule me...
I knew this sin was mine alone

All you have is your fire
And the place you need to reach
Don't you ever, tame your demons -
Always keep them on a leash

When I was a man I thought it ended
Well I knew loves perfect ache
But my peace has always depended
On all the ashes in my way

All you have is your fire,
And the place you need to reach
Don't you ever, tame your demons,
Always keep them on a leash...
⚫️will be doing
βœ”οΈwe use future continuous for an action over a period of time.
⚜it means"that at some time in the future we will be in the middle of an action.

πŸ”Έpast: this time last week we were sitting on the beach.
πŸ”Έpresent:at the moment we are sitting on the beach.
πŸ”Έfuture:this time next week we'll be sitting on the beach.
βœ”οΈcompare will do and wii be doing :

πŸ”Έthe band will play when the president enters(means the president enters and then the band will play)

πŸ”Έthe band will be playing when the president enters (means the band will start playing then the president enters)
⚫️was going to
⚜we can use be going to in the past to explaint an intention . often the intended action did not happen.

πŸ”Έi was going to tidy the flat but i didnt have time .

πŸ”Έ so you went to the airport without ticket ,where were you going to fly to?

πŸ”Έthe woman walked away just as i was going to speak to her.(just as:at the moment when)

Million Reasons
Lady Gaga
[Verse 1]
You're giving me a million reasons to let you go
You're giving me a million reasons to quit the show
You're givin' me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons

If I had a highway, I would run for the hills
If you could find a dry way, I'd forever be still
But you're giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons
[Chorus]
I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one to stay

[Verse 2]
Head stuck in a cycle, I look off and I stare
It's like that I've stopped breathing, but completely aware
'Cause you're giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons

And if you say something that you might even mean
It's hard to even fathom which parts I should believe
'Cause you're giving me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons

[Chorus]
I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one to stay

[Bridge]
Hey, ehh, ehh, eyy
Baby I'm bleedin', bleedin'
Stay, ehh, ehhy
Can't you give me what I'm needin', needin'
Every heartbreak makes it hard to keep the faith
But baby, I just need one good one
Good one, good one, good one, good one, good one

[Chorus]
When I bow down to pray
I try to make the worst seem better
Lord, show me the way
To cut through all his worn out leather
I've got a hundred million reasons to walk away
But baby, I just need one good one, good one
Tell me that you'll be the good one, good one
Baby, I just need one good one to stay
