The team is excited to announce the new merged mining protocol OptiMine (short for Optimistically Sequenced Merged Mining) that allows the re-use of Bitcoinβs Proof-of-Work to secure other networks, including sidechains and (ETH) rollups while retaining fast Block times and high TPS.
It is the first step towards our ultimate goal to achieve Bitcoin security for Bitcoin assets (BTC, Ordinals, BRC20) and Ethereum security for Ethereum assets (ETH, stablecoins, ERC20s) on L2s, thus uniting the strengths of both ecosystems.
With the upcoming 2024 Bitcoin Halving, OptiMine will play a significant role in shaping security solutions for projects in the ecosystem.

Closing a Chapter: Winding Down Interlay and Kintsugi
Interlay and Kintsugi are winding down.
After years of building trustless Bitcoin DeFi, we are winding down the Interlay and Kintsugi networks.
Action needed: withdraw your external assets (iBTC and kBTC, and bridged assets such as DOT, USDT, KSM) before 22 July 2026. After that date, the chains stop producing blocks, and any remaining funds are locked on the chain.
Note: INTR and KINT are native tokens and cannot be withdrawn. They will be frozen once the chains stop producing blocks.
The networks stay open source and can be restarted by the community. We are now continuing the Bitcoin DeFi mission at BOB.
