The proposal which aims to immediately increase mint capacity for iBTC and improve the economic efficiency of the bridge has been passed by the community. The changes in the proposal will get enacted soon.

In case you missed the community call earlier in the day, Here’s a short summary of the main talking points from the call👇

- Now’s the right time to double down on the bitcoin ecosystem with the Hashrate at an all time high & the renaissance of bitcoin builder culture.

- Interlay is here to stay & we are working on scaling the bridge through different solutions like liquid staking assets & qTokens.

- The team is engaging on plans to provide iBTC as an alternative asset to diversify the DOT treasury.

- The team is also finalising the Banxa On/Off ramp integration for the Polkadot ecosystem having spearheaded it from the beginning.

- One of the priorities right now being engaging with the stakeholders & community on ways to improve the tokenomics & determine a way forward for a sustainable DeFi incentives program.

- The eventual goal will be to unify Interlay & BOB as one suite of products once the Substrate <—> EVM snowbridge is live & working as promised after compatibility tests.

- BOB will be the first specialised rollup stack focused on scaling use cases on Bitcoin.

- BOB will unlock a wider userbase & adoption by integrating multichain toolings instead of being only substrate based.

- BOB provides tooling & libraries at the intersection of EVM & rust based builder ecosystems.

- BOB is in a very early tech stage & in the process of being validated by different ecosystem partners. The questions around tokens & governance will be taken once the product stage begins only after the tech stage.

- Community will be involved in all important discussions with a goal to maintain value accrual between the two ecosystems.

- Your support, feedback & participation going forward will be integral & hopefully we can all collectively propel the Bitcoin Renaissance! 🧡

🚨 DeFi Hub Incentives Proposal 🚨

Last week the community was asked for their opinion on several potential improvements that were suggested for the INTR tokenomics. Based on the results of the latest poll (https://interlay.subsquare.io/posts/35), A suggestion is to start a proposal with those action items that have received the most support/least resistance and follow up with additional, separate proposals to vote on the more controversial items. The action items that seem to be supported by everyone would be to remove the 2% inflation of INTR token and deposit 12.5m INTR token into HydraDX’s Omnipool.

However, in order to vote on such a proposal we have to wait for the Hydra community to vote in favor of adding INTR to the omnipool. A discussion post (https://hydradx.subsquare.io/posts/119) has already been created an we received very positive feedback so far.

Another not very controversial and more pressing proposal would certainly be the renewal of the DeFi hub incentives, which ran out this week and we are already witnessing massive outflows of capital. Therefore, the following proposal will suggest to renew the rewards as described in the discussion post for another three month and redirect the residual amount to staking.

The proposal is now live & will become a referendum to be voted on monday onwards.
