🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson on X:

🔶️ "I applaud Gov. Greg Abbott's efforts to secure our border. President Biden and the Democrats have created a massive humanitarian crisis that is damaging our country. From encounters with those on terrorist watch lists to cartels smuggling dangerous drugs like fentanyl, the border is out of control and getting worse. Our country needs more governors like Gov. Abbott to step up into the gap and tell Biden enough is enough. As your governor, I will partner with law enforcement at all levels to tackle the fentanyl crisis, crack down on illegal immigration and make our country safer and more secure."

🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 Texas Lt. Governor Responds to Question About Possible 'Civil War'

🔶️ When asked whether this situation will "turn into a civil war," Patrick responded:

“We believe constitutionally we are right, we have a right to defend our citizens, we have a right to defend this country and we are just doing our job. These young women and men who serve our National Guard and our DPS these are the best of the best why would he want to send anyone down to confront them," he said.

🇺🇸 🇺🇸📝: For those who don’t catch the subtext to what Lt Gov Patrick is saying here, it’s a pretty implicit threat that an attempt to use force by the Federal government will be met by force in turn on the part of Texas. This follows the Governor of Oklahoma making similar threats the other day, alluding to the possibility of State forces getting into combat with their Federal counterparts.

The implications of what this all means are starting to become obvious to all. If the Federal government responds, it risks an escalation that will spiral into civil war. If they don’t, then for the first time in American history the States of the U.S. will have successfully established a precedent of Nullification, resulting in an erosion of central authority.

There are no good options for Washington at the present.

🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Biden's about to take the most consequential decision of his Presidency

🔶️ He wants to punish the perpetrators of the attack and deter Iran from its actions in the region. But doing so could put the US into direct confrontation with the leadership in Tehran, which has already been emboldened in the region since the Hamas attack, launching attacks in Iraq and Pakistan.

🔶️ He must also weigh the potential for further economic upheaval as the US contends with Houthi militants - another Iranian proxy - that has roiled global shipping and sparked fears of fresh economic turmoil by targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea, which accounts for 12% of global trade.

🔶️ “The Biden administration is going to have to tread a very delicate line in trying to respond forcefully enough to restore some modicum of deterrence so this doesn’t happen again, while not undertaking a response that escalates the conflict,” said Jonathan Panikoff, director of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative and former deputy national intelligence officer at the National Intelligence Council.

🇰🇵 On the morning of January 29, KCNA published an official statement about yesterday's cruise missile launches by North Korea.

It is reported that in the first half of January 28 , test launches of the Fire Strela-3-31 cruise missiles were carried out from a submarine. The missiles' flight times were 7421 and 7445 seconds (more than two hours). The missiles successfully hit the target on the island. The country's leadership expressed "great satisfaction with the result."

It is also reported that Kim Jong-un familiarized himself in detail with and discussed issues related to both arming the country’s fleet with nuclear weapons and the construction of new nuclear submarines and other new ships of the DPRK Navy.
