At the same time, analysts explain the expected slowdown in economic growth in 2025 compared to 2024 by the fact that the effect of high investment activity and stable private consumption indicators will weaken.
“Domestic demand in Russia is very strong,” IMF chief economist Pierre-Olivier Gourincha told the FT. “Sanctions are still leading to the degradation of the Russian economy and are gradually having a negative impact, but the economy itself is quite stable.”
The US economy this year may increase by 2.7% (+0.6 percentage points compared to the January forecast), the IMF believes. US GDP growth last year was estimated at 2.5%.
China's economic growth, according to analysts, will slow to 4.6% in 2024 from 5.2% in 2023. India's GDP growth estimate has been improved to 6.8%.
