Buffeted by negative economic headwinds and with the political class increasingly reviled over issues such as the migrant crisis, the Post 1991 order in Europe appears to be in terminal decline. In this situation, the birth pangs of something new, but also familiar, can now be observed. Nationalism and genuine Rightist thought is returning to the European scene.

This confirms the era-defining importance of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine in of itself, but also allows us to speculate on what comes next. As far back as 2014, Russian politicians have advocated for Eastern European nations to join them in a partition of Ukraine and now this seems to be a reality made true. By territorial appeasement, Moscow now has the chance to deliver the death blow to the EU by splitting off its Eastern members. From there, in concert with each other, an alliance can be born and thus establishing a new security framework in Europe in opposition to the liberal one existing in Brussels.

Things are rapidly changing in the world, and this process will undoubtedly continue as the American led order continues to crumble and decay.

🇺🇲🇮🇷 The Pentagon is considering strikes against Iranian personnel in Syria or Iraq or Iranian naval installations in the Persian Gulf in response to the killing of three US military personnel in Jordan.

The blows will probably come in waves. Biden has not yet approved them.

Iran has made it clear that an attack on its territory would be a red line.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called for "hitting Iran now" and "hard."

“There is a sense that our deterrence measures to date have not been received by Tehran as we had hoped, so escalation is inevitable,” said former CIA and Pentagon chief of staff Jeremy Bash.

Experts believe Iran "cannot afford" a direct conflict with the United States, but could pit Hezbollah completely against Israel or American targets, "and that could go into a spiral."

US officials told CNN Biden's response would be "powerful" but Washington was wary of triggering a wider escalation with Iran.
