"In Moscow, there is grave concern about the sharp escalation of the situation in the area of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

In this regard, we reaffirm our principled and consistent position that this conflict, which has lasted for 75 years, has no military solution and can only be settled by political and diplomatic means, through the establishment of a full-fledged negotiation process based on the known international legal foundation. This foundation envisions the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem, living in peace and security alongside Israel.

We view the current large-scale escalation as another highly dangerous manifestation of the vicious cycle of violence, which is a direct consequence of the chronic non-fulfillment of the relevant UN resolutions and its Security Council and the actual blocking by the West of the work of the Middle Eastern 'Quartet' of international mediators consisting of Russia, the USA, the EU, and the UN.

We urge both the Palestinian and Israeli sides to immediately cease fire, refrain from violence, show necessary restraint, and, with the assistance of the international community, establish a negotiation process aimed at achieving a comprehensive, lasting, and long-awaited peace in the Middle East."

Israel has ordered tens of thousands of 155mm artillery shells through a $60 million contract with Elbit Systems amid tension on the country’s northern border.

The government and the company this week announced the deal for the M107-A3 projectiles for the Israel Defense Forces’ artillery corps. The order follows a move by the U.S. to withdraw 300,000 shells stored in the country to transfer them to Ukraine, according to a January report in The New York Times. Israel had an agreement with the U.S. under which the former could use the ammunition for military campaigns.

📝🇮🇱🇺🇦: At this juncture, it seems safe to say this is a well coordinated action that, besides the symbolic act of being on the same date as the Yom Kippur War in 1973, was also timed to strike when the munitions shortage caused by the conflict in Ukraine would most seriously hamper the IDF’s capability to respond.

IF the IDF does enter Gaza in a ground invasion, they will get stuck in urban fighting without the benefit of sufficient heavy munitions to destroy fortified structures. Reading any account of Fallujah or other examples of modern urban combat can quickly inform the reader of just how horrific and casualty intensive that type of combat is for the attacker.

Thus, we can say this is the most obvious example to date of blowback from a country supporting Ukraine, and it doesn’t look set to abate anytime soon.

⚡🇪🇬 I would also like to inform my subscribers that forward elements of the Egyptian second and third field armies have been ordered to attain combat readiness, and most likely there's a full check up on the airbases east of Cairo that is going on, according to what I have heard from my sources.

However, my sources say, they are being prepared in case of any scenario - the fighting spilling over to Sinai, a war that involves Egypt, etc, so many possibilities, and the Egyptian army must be ready to do any task it's ordered to and faced with.

🪖🇮🇱🇵🇸 If this is true and Israel has only 20% its arty stockpile, then Hamas isn't suiciding Gaza on pyre of defiance like people think. They timed this perfectly to lure Israel into writing cheques they can't cash in the hopes Israel will invade Gaza with infantry at which point they can grind them down endlessly with basically unending Arab volunteers in brutal urban warfare... where most of their technological advantage is gone and they won't have the most important 1/3rd of combined arms warfare.

This also would explain the brutality and the focus on taking as many civilian hostages as they can, since Israel can't just leave hundreds of Israeli civilians in Gaza and declare they aren't going to get them back... They're pretty much trapped fighting a ground war with what little artillery they have.

🪖🇮🇱🇵🇸 If the 300,000 rounds the US took from Israeli stockpiles to give to Ukraine corresponds to that 80% that Israel's supposedly down then they basically can't sustain combined armed warfare, since the 2014 Gaza war took 34,000 rounds of artillery alone.

Even if they have hundreds of thousands left, they can only use a fraction of them on Gaza since they need enough that they could fight a high intensity war with Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon if they intervene... let alone if Iran and Iraq start sending forces
