10 people remain missing following ferry blaze off the coast of Greek's Corfu

10 passengers remain missing following a blaze on a ferry in the Ionian Sea, off the coast of Corfu. On Sunday, the first fatality was reported after the body of a passenger listed as missing was recovered. One survivor was also found.

At least 281 out of 292 passengers and crew had been taken to safety.

The ferry caught fire sailing from Greece to Italy, en-route to Brindisi.

The UK has issued almost 200 hundred flood warnings - some with an "immediate risk to life."

Many residents in the Manchester area have been told to prepare for evacuation, as Storm Franklin brought torrential rain. The ground was already saturated from Storms Dudley and Eunice last week, with tens-of-thousands of homes still without power.

Travel chaos is expected in some areas this Monday, with the weather front proving deadly in England, Ireland and parts of northern Europe.

Nepal police fire tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse protest over US ‘gift’

Protestors angry at a proposed $500mn US aid grant apparently threatening their country’s sovereignty were targeted with tear gas and rubber bullets by police amidst violent clashes.

Cops reportedly beat protestors with batons in response to stones thrown by protestors, who oppose a deal that they fear will pave the way for US troops to be posted to the Himalayan nation.

BoJo claims Putin “bent on full-scale invasion” - will reveal sanctions Tuesday

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will unveil a raft of sanctions to target Russian economic interests “as hard as we can” later on Tuesday after telling ministers he believes President Putin is planning a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Johnson says Putin has “gravely miscalculated” the situation in eastern Ukraine, and adds that measures to be announced later Tuesday are only the first round as he expects more Russian “irrational behavior”.

His words follow Health Secretary Sajid Javid’s comments to BBC radio earlier Tuesday putting Moscow’s actions on a par with the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

Boris Johnson has announced sanctions against 5 Russian banks and 3 individuals - Igor Rotenberg, Boris Rotenberg and Gennady Timchenko - who have had UK assets frozen and will have entry refused.

The PM said that by recognising separatist regions of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin is planning "the pretext for an invasion" of the rest of Ukraine.
