On this day, 74 years ago, Mahatma Gandhi was fatally shot in Delhi. A Hindu zealot killed India’s most revered leader. A year before Gandhi’s assassination, India won its independence from Britain but was partitioned into Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan.
Religious violence immediately broke out. Gandhi appealed for peace by fasting and praying. Gandhi’s killer, Nathuram Godse, accused the ‘Father of the Nation’ of having betrayed Hindus by being too tolerant to Muslims and blamed the bloodshed on Gandhi.

NASA shared a hypnotizing photo Friday that shows three galaxies all in one photo. The photo was captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, a joint effort by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA).
The first galaxy can be seen in the bottom right of the photo, described by the European Space Agency as “bowling-ball-shaped.” Near the center of the photo, you can see the second galaxy, with its long tails stretching out from its center. Toward the top right is the third, orange-hued galaxy.

Canadian Trucker to RT: "We're Coming for you Trudeau" - EXCLUSIVE
RT has been following the trip of Steve Wittman on his way to Ottawa in support of the protest. While the trucker stopped off to grab a coffee, he captured the scale of those going to join the demonstration against cross-border mandates in the capital.
"Does that look like a small percentage of the population?" Mr Wittman added others were out in support and some were handing out food and snacks to the truckers for their journey.
"We're coming for you Trudeau!"
