Five Actions You Can Take to Develop ⬆️ Integrity as a Leader

❇️ Be a model for your team. It is critical for you to be consistent and clear about your ethical standards. Strive to provide facts, not smokescreens, speak up even when it may be risky to do so, and challenge any system that encourages or rewards dishonesty and unethical behavior.

❇️ Be a model for ethical behavior. Ensure you are consistent, open, and clear with your ethical standards and expectations. Encourage your team to express concerns about questionable practices and take the time to review any ethical concerns and your team will provide open, candid feedback.

❇️ Don’t be a political animal. Being competent in your job is the most effective method of achieving success. Avoid being political by increasing your own awareness of political behavior. Start by listing the tactics you are aware of and ensure you’re not exhibiting these behaviors. Then ensure you always share recognition, be a team player, acknowledge people for their unique knowledge and talents, and set SMART objectives to help with unbiased measurements of performance.

❇️ Be a risk taker and stand up for what you believe in. There is a direct correlation between risk, success, and excellence. These are key components in maintaining a competitive advantage. When standing up for what you believe in, approach any adversity with a positive attitude and always work to gain support and cooperation from key people in your immediate or broader team. Be sure to encourage others to speak up and voice their viewpoints.

❇️ Be a role model for living your organization’s values. If you demonstrate that you are a proud member of your organization and live its values, and explicitly articulate to your team why you’re proud and why these things are important, they will soon follow. Walk the talk, be an example of what you want your employees to be and ensure your performance reflects the standards you expect from your team.

3 Ways to Grow ⬆️ Your Child’s Integrity

🔹 Articulate family values.
What are your family values? Can your child discuss and defend them? Family values impact healthy child and adolescent development in profound ways. Most families have positive values that are steeped in their cultures or religions. Their values elicit habits of thinking and behaving that honor human strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and imperfections. Learn why family values should be intentionally articulated and how children learn through a parent’s words and actions.

🔹 Develop a moral vocabulary.
Words like honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage are core to centuries of religious, philosophical, and family beliefs. Use them and others to express and reinforce your family values. Teach children the behaviors that flow from these principles. Use quotes to ignite meaningful dinner conversations and encourage kids to talk about these values. Check out an excellent list of quotes that were compiled by The International Center for Academic Integrity.

🔹 Reward respectful behavior.
When children feel good about doing what’s right, they learn to measure the quality of their lives beyond grades and extra-curricular achievements. Parents who let children know that courage, honesty, and respect for others is more highly valued than quantifiable wealth or intelligence help kids understand the true meaning of being wholly human. When your children show integrity, tell them what you admire about their behavior.

The Necessity of Sales 💰 Integrity and 4 Keys to Achieve It

▪️ Believe in your product or service.

Selling with integrity takes gumption and sincerity, and your ability to muster both probably doesn't come with just any product or service. Be sure to have some emotional weight behind your sales efforts.

Try to only sell products that you believe have legitimate merit. Otherwise, you'll wind up compromising your integrity and making meaningless sales pitches that will wind up burning you out.

▪️ Be respectful and rational when discussing your competition.

You need to have a reasonable picture of your company's brand position and competitive landscape. Understand your competitors' strengths and weaknesses relative to your company. Be able to speak to those features frankly and honestly.

It's tempting to totally downplay the competition's merit and present your product or service as the be-all, end-all option in your space. But there's no integrity in that. Instead, you need to understand what differentiates your offering and be able to articulate how and why it suits your prospect's specific needs.

▪️ Appreciate the fact that your prospect has taken the time to talk with you.

Selling with integrity means staying compassionate throughout the sales process. Remember, the sale is about and for your prospect. They're the ones taking on the most risk and financial commitment in the transaction.
Your sales integrity is often measured by your sincere commitment to the customer. Put their interests first, and make sure any negotiation or back-and-forth is done with patience and in good faith.

Further Tips to Preserve ✅ Integrity

➡️ Learn how to be assertive , so that you can defend an ethical position from an adult point of view, without whining or being aggressive.

➡️ Avoid white lies. They may seem harmless, but tiny lies are still lies. Always tell the truth.

➡️ Learn to take responsibility for your actions. If you make a mistake, own up to it immediately and do whatever it takes to right the situation.

➡️ Keep your word, and don't make promises that you know you can't keep.

➡️ Keep in mind that in times of fear, disaster and chaos, the temptation is even greater to make a wrong choice. Use these opportunities to demonstrate your true character.

➡️ Avoid seeming self-satisfied or priggish when you're acting with integrity: stay humble and down-to-earth, don't look for approval, and, where you sensibly can, try to let people save face.

3 movies 🎥 where the truth set people free

🎦 Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

We're beginning our list with a James Stewart classic, one that preaches the value of honesty and truth without ever becoming too earnest or sentimental.

In the second of his three movies with director Frank Capra, Stewart plays an idealistic American senator who takes on the might of the establishment. But he doesn't do so with weaponry: rather, he uses words and good, old-fashioned decency to win the day. Given the politics is so often portrayed as venal and corrupt, the optimism of Capra and Stewart's vision is a breath of fresh air.

🎦 Pinocchio (1940)

Disney's classic animated fable is the heart-wrenching story of a wooden puppet who desires to become a real boy. Pinocchio's lies manifest in the form of an elongated nose, but in the end, the character's inherently truthful nature sees him rewarded.

After Pinocchio apparently dies during the climactic battle with the whale known as Monstro, the Blue Fairy gives him what his heart desires. She transforms him into a flesh and blood human, to the delight of his human 'father' Geppetto.

🎦 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

This adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic book deviated from the novel so much, it left the author enraged. Nevertheless, these changes make it perfect for our Honesty Day list.

The essential set-up is the same: good-natured, poor kid Charlie (Peter Ostrum) wins a golden ticket to tour the chocolate factory of the mysterious Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder). Where the movie deviates, however, is in the subterfuge plot whereby Charlie is encouraged to steal trade secrets on behalf of one of Wonka's rivals.

This didn't happen in the book, and, as it turns out, it was all staged to test Charlie's truthful nature. Ultimately, he passes with flying colours, and inherits the factory from Wonka.
3 Tips 🌟 to Break a Lying Habit

🔹 Ask yourself, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’

Remember the old adage, “honesty is the best policy”? There’s a reason it’s stuck around. Lying (or omitting the truth) really doesn’t help anyone, including yourself.

If you lie because you think the truth will upset someone or cause harm, ask yourself what the worst outcome would be if you decided to tell the truth. Chances are, it’s not as bad as you think.

🔹 Take it one day at a time

If you’re trying to be more honest, don’t attempt to flip a switch and stop lying entirely from that point forward. Sure, it might sound like a good plan, but it’s not realistic.

Instead, just commit to being more truthful each day. If you slip up or find yourself back in a lie, don’t get discouraged. You can make a different choice tomorrow.

🔹 Avoid trying to justify or validate dishonesty

“We lie because that’s what we were taught to do,” Egel says.

There’s a good chance when you were a kid, one of your parents said something like this: “Even if you don’t like your birthday present from Grandma, tell her it’s just what you wanted so you don’t hurt her feelings.”

Instead of justifying why a lie is necessary to protect someone’s feelings, put that energy toward finding a way to achieve that same goal by telling the truth.

How Cheating 🤔 in College Hurts Students?

Students cheat on coursework in a variety of ways, from classic classroom moves like scribbling hidden notes somewhere to using technology such as smartwatches to seek out information.

Morgan says he's even seen cases where test-takers attempted to use drones or affix exam notes 📖 to their dogs – kind of a reversal of the old "the dog ate my homework" excuse.

But students who get caught cheating on a proctored exam automatically fail the test, Morgan says, which in turn affects their class grade. And if a failed exam causes a student to flunk a class, there may be other consequences beyond disciplinary sanctions.

"If you fail the class, and it's a required ✅ class, a student would have to retake it and pay for those credit hours again," Roberts says. "With finances being one of the major stressors of college students, they don't always have (the money) to be able to retake a class."

Considering that there are thousands of universities in the U.S., there are also thousands of policies governing academic integrity. Individual policies and the subsequent repercussions for those who get caught cheating can vary widely, meaning an individual professor may deal with the action as a class issue or a student may be hauled before a disciplinary committee.

Recovering ✅ Better with Integrity

Corruption, bribery, theft, tax evasion, and other illicit financial flows cost developing countries $1.26 trillion per year. That is roughly the combined size of the economies of Switzerland, South Africa and Belgium, and enough money to lift 1.4 billion people who live on less than $1.25 a day above the poverty threshold and keep them there for at least six years.

Corruption has truly become a global 🌍 challenge, with no country being immune to it. It negatively affects people, communities and entire nations. It also undermines democratic processes, reinforces injustice, and increases poverty. Furthermore, it weakens the essential public services, raises the cost of doing business and undercuts investment in development. In sum, corruption adversely affects all three dimensions of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental.

In the times like COVID-19 pandemic that has affected all countries, the negative impact of corruption gets manifested and becomes obvious. COVID-19 has exposed vulnerabilities in health systems and public service delivery throughout the world as myriad cases of misuse of public funds, lax contracting processes and maladministration have come to light.

Kazakhstan has sustained its efforts to combat corruption and gradually shifts towards preventative measures. Ratification of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2008 is an important milestone in this process. Having joined GRECO in 2019, Kazakhstan once again confirmed its strong intention to promote integrity in public and private sectors and put more constraints on corruption. In 2019, Kazakhstan improved ⬇️ its ranking in the global Corruption Perception Index from 124 in 2018 to 113 out of 198 countries.

3 Reasons Why Honesty ✨ Is Important In A Friendship

▶️ Healthy and mature growth of friendship is based on Honesty.
We become friends to many when we start schooling. With the passage of time we meet different fellows, and among them, a few remain with us for a long time. In those few ones, we find those who remain honest to us and we trust in them. The relationship in school results in friendship and it grows on if honesty stays among them. A healthy friendship is always based on honesty and it grows if the friends remain true to each other.

▶️ Honesty is a secret of successful friendship
Why is honesty important in a friendship? We all believe that no relationship is successful without honesty. Self-respect and being trustworthy are the most important things in friendship. An honest friend stands with you at every stage of life. So, it is important, to be honest with friends in order to have an everlasting friendship with them.

▶️ Honesty is liberating element in Friendship
No one is perfect as we all make mistakes in our life. We usually make such mistakes upon which we regret. Honesty in friendship lets go any kind of unhealthy conditions and discourages the associations which have no healthier effect of well-being. Instead, honesty allows the beautiful and mature friendship to grow and loom.

We will share thoughts 📨 about how people understand the word «Integrity».

The quality of being honest with yourself each day, each moment, and each instance. Specifically, it also means to have strict moral principles towards you as an identity. It shows to what extent good you are. Being a good person is not that easy.

As you have already mentioned, everyone is challenging an integrity every day whether they are in queue or exam. It is the core quality through which an individual builds strong personality which further affect relationship and interaction of his or her surrounding

Academic ✅ Integrity supports institutions in implementing a consistent and unified approach to integrity training. Made up of five staff-facing modules and five student-facing modules, the programme ensures that every member of the university community is on the same page when it comes to what constitutes best academic practice in their role – substantially reducing the risk of misconduct.

The student-facing modules provide a well-rounded guide 📄 to studying with integrity, emphasising the positive values, skills, and behaviour necessary throughout their studies and post-graduation.

The staff-facing modules demonstrate how to make use of academic integrity tools in a way that has a lasting impact – addressing key 🔑 issues such as contract cheating, assessment, technology, and group work.

3 ways lying 🤫 destroys your relationship

▶️ Lying destroys trust
Every relationship is built on mutual trust, whether that relationship it is romantic or not. Lying quickly erodes that trust, hurting both parties in the process. Whether it is keeping secrets or telling a little white lie, lying destroys one of the fundamental pillars of a healthy relationship — trust. Whether you got caught or suddenly decided to come clean and you were forgiven, the fact of the matter is that for a relationship to work, both parties must be able to trust each other. Though some might argue that trust can always be regained, it is not as simple as it sounds as the hurt partner will have so many mental blocks up that it might be difficult to regain trust. ▶️ No one tells just one lie
Lies not only grow but they tend to become addictive especially if you have gotten away with a few already. There is a tendency to want to lie every time you find yourself in a jam because for you telling a lie is easier than telling the truth. And the problem arises when you tell too many lies as these lies may become difficult to contain. Simply put, one lie equals more lies and not only that, lies grow over time as it becomes harder and harder for you to keep your story straight. ▶️ Lying hurts the ones you care about the most
When you tell a lie, your intention is never to hurt anyone but to instead get yourself out of a sticky situation. But lies do hurt. By telling a loved one a lie, they will feel betrayed by you and it is this feeling of betrayal that can lead to a breakdown in communication, making them feel even more vulnerable than they already are! Love doesn’t hurt but lies do; and the moment you start telling lies, it is no longer love.

While the concept of integrity has long been ⏳ explored by great philosophers and thinkers, its application in modern and postmodern business and economic contexts has been underdeveloped. Little have been done to address the vagueness and paradoxicality of integrity and its shadow reality of counterfeits.

The thematic collection, which this paper complements, entitled ‘Integrity and Its Counterfeits: Implications for Economy 💰, Business and Management’, makes a contribution towards filling the gap between the abstract concept of integrity and its application into business and economy, with a particular attention on the ambiguous, equivocal and diverse meanings of the concept, the complex and dynamic practicality of integrity, and the grey and dark areas of business out of integrity.

This article 🖇 introduces the background of the research theme and provides exemplary debates and emerging avenues of discussion on this topic.

Greet and meet 🤗 one of our new rubrics «What does the word “integrity” mean to you?».

We will share thoughts 📨 about how people understand the word «Integrity».

Integrity for me is all about saving ✅ respect towards myself and others. I have met intersection of integrity issues, namely, when your friend is ruining that academic integrity and you don't want to report about that to anyone else, as you are keeping your friendship intergrity, and sometimes i got confused which specific integrity means more to me.

Anyway, I came to idea 💡 of respecting myself - my choice of being a friend and keeping boundaries by not crossing her decisions. Hence, integrity - is something which circles me wherever I go snd whenever I am, It is what defines my actions.
