We have a new category! Winners of past video contests share their experience of participating in the contest✨
They will tell you how the idea for the video came about and how they jointly implemented the idea, winning the main prize for the best video🙌🏻
Janelle's team won the main prize last year, they had quite a rich experience of participation, read below why⬇️🤫
«It all started at the beginning of the 10th grade, when I discovered video production and filming.
There were a few in the class who were interested in filmmaking: Me, Daniyar, Danialla, Mansur and Inkar.
I don’t remember who exactly brought up the NU Video contest, but I remember how quickly we got together and decided that we would participate.
It was important for us to take part in this competition for a couple of reasons:
gain experience in video production
voice the importance of academic integrity
test our skills
The main thing I would like to note about our work is the team spirit.
Even if everyone had separate tasks, we always consulted with each other.
Let's say, Me and Inkar were responsible for the scenario/script, however everyone had a say in the process
I think the easiest part of the whole thing was filming ( shoutout to our cameraman Daniyar, main actor Mansur and creative director Daniala).
I made a table beforehand, where our schedule corresponded to what scene we are filming, what props to bring and the lines of the actors.
This made the filming considerably easier and less stressful
(Of course from a cameraman’s perspective that must have been less fun 😂)
To me the hardest part was editing. Me, Daniyar and Daniala had to meet up to make sure everything is according to the script. While Daniala was making the graphics for the video, Daniyar was editing and I was reviewing the footage.
In the end it all came into one piece.
Even then we were happy just to finish this ambitious project of ours
Actually, now that I recall everything so clearly, the hardest part of the whole process was waiting for the announcements
On the day X, when we found out we won the grand prize 🏆, we were elated and relieved that all the hard work paid off
There is nothing sweeter than a good old victory😂 ( jk)
So dear future contestants, this contest is a great way to start or continue expressing your love for meaningful art, filmmaking
I wish you all luck
And until you try, you never know whether you’ll succeed or not🥇»

We are continuing to share winner’s experience of participating in the video contest for the best video of last year✨
Today’s hero of the story is Ecrin.
She’s from Turkey, and her team won prize for Turnitin Award nomination🔝
How it was and what it’s like to be a winner? Read⬇️
“When I heard there was a short movie contest about academic integrity, I immediately knew that I wanted to participate. I have taken a video for a competition before, and I knew a little about how to make a short movie. I talked to my friends about the contest, and I created a group. Unfortunately, we heard about the contest just a week and a half before the deadline. We had some help from our teacher to make everything appropriate. We wrote a scenario and took the video in a day. The hardest part was writing the scenario, because we wanted to create an original video. I searched and learned more about academic integrity. We had a little time left since we learned about the video a little before the deadline. Our editor had to edit the video in a couple days. And finally, we sent our application.Even though we had to spend a lot of time on the video, we had a lot of fun. Taking this video was both educating and entertaining. It was one of the best experiences I've had in my life. I used imagination, creativity, and hard work to come up with a video that could win an award. Also, I could learn more about academic integrity. I am glad I participated.”

Reading fluently is a crucial skill that can improve your comprehension and enjoyment of books, articles, and other written materials📖
However, many people struggle with reading fluently, whether due to a lack of practice or poor reading habits. Here are 8 ways to read fluently that you can start practicing today:
1. Read regularly. Set aside time each day to read, even if it's just for a few minutes⌛️
2. Use a timer. Set a timer for a specific amount of time, such as 10 or 15 minutes, and read as much as you can within that time frame⏱️
3. Practice pacing. Try to find a comfortable pace that allows you to read smoothly without stumbling over words⚖️
4. Read aloud. Reading aloud can help improve your fluency by forcing you to slow down and focus on each word. It can also improve your pronunciation and comprehension🎤
5. Use your finger. Using your finger to follow along with the words as you read can help improve your fluency by keeping your eyes focused and reducing the chances of skipping or repeating words🙌🏻
6. Read with a purpose. Whether you're reading to learn a new skill or to gain information on a specific topic, having a clear purpose in mind can help you stay motivated and focused on the task at hand🎯
7. Try reading different types of materials. Reading different types of materials, such as newspapers, magazines, and books, can help improve your fluency by exposing you to a variety of writing styles and vocabulary📃
8. Practice, practice, practice. Like any skill, reading fluency takes practice to develop.
By following the tips listed above and practicing regularly, you can improve your reading fluency and become a more confident and skilled reader.
