๐๐New Q3 insights in the Status of Venture Capital Report 2020!
The VC industry continues to be very active against the pandemic headwinds. In Q3, we saw lots of deal activity and ample deal values, enough to top last yearโs numbers. Weโll be particularly diving deeper into whatโs driving the massive expansion of late-stage activity as well as the exit environment, both of which are booming!
๐Global VC deal value reached $84bn in Q3, a 34% jump since Q2, and a 39% increase from the same period last year.
๐At $1.9 Billion, Seed Funding In Q3 Was Down Only 8% Since Last Quarter
๐Early-Stage Funding Also Racked Up $14 BN Deal Value In Q3
๐Late-stage total deal value dropped only 2% since last quarter with 1050 rounds raising $33.7 billion.
In conclusion, in Q3 there was a shift in Capital and instead of correction, Investors are risk-adjusting their portfolios, allocating capital into later-stages vs. earlier-stages, and into hot industries vs negatively affected industries.

The record amount of venture capital investment in Europe this year suggests that the appetite for the region's #startups remains strong despite the global pandemic. Including investment in Israel, VCs invested $46 billion in the continent as of Dec. 14, beating last year's record of $41.8 billion, according to PitchBook data.
๐ฌ๐งThe UK remains the biggest draw for VC investment in Europe, raising $13.7 billion so far this year.
๐ฉ๐ชGermany saw a 10.9% increase in venture funding.
๐ณ๐ฑThe Netherlands was the biggest winner of the Benelux region, logging an increase of more than 38% in VC fundings
๐ฎ๐ฑIsrael's VC funding was up over $750 million in 2020 to stand at $4.9 billion
