ππInvestors are tripping over one another to give hot start-ups money
π·πAt the onset of the #covid19 pandemic, warnings of an impending doom for the startup ecosystem were unbridled. hose largely faded after the initial shock of the coronavirus wore off. Now, as the new reality of isolation supercharges the adoption of tech products and services, the sentiment has flipped even further β in to a frenzy of deal making.
π₯This frenzy helped startups amass $36.5 billion in funding in the Q3, up to 30% more from the previous year, according to CB Insights. Startups have raised 223 βmega-roundsβ of $100 million or higher so far this year, on a pace to surpass last yearβs total, according to PitchBook Data.
πΈThe boom is being fueled not just by higher demand for digital products and services. Low interest rates are pushing investors to seek returns in ever-riskier assets and venture firms have raised record levels of capital!
π£This raises one important question, βFor how long will this frenzy growth continue?

π·πCan founders scale their startups during the pandemic?
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the forecast for entrepreneurs was dire: Expect major shutdowns and downsizing, said governments and business leaders alike. Nine months later, however, many of those predictions have proven to be surprisingly inaccurate. Rather than shuttering en masse, more than half of startups told researchers that they were financially on target or doing better than expected!
ππDespite #COVID19 pandemic being presented as an utter doomsday, #entrepreneurs have carved out niches and bucked expectations. And in all honesty, itβs not the first time this has happened. Disney and Uber, held strong and grew during the Great Depression and last decadeβs Great Recession, respectively. What could this mean for you and your business?
How can you and your startup, carve out new ways to success in these changing times β

ππNew Q3 insights in the Status of Venture Capital Report 2020!
The VC industry continues to be very active against the pandemic headwinds. In Q3, we saw lots of deal activity and ample deal values, enough to top last yearβs numbers. Weβll be particularly diving deeper into whatβs driving the massive expansion of late-stage activity as well as the exit environment, both of which are booming!
πGlobal VC deal value reached $84bn in Q3, a 34% jump since Q2, and a 39% increase from the same period last year.
πAt $1.9 Billion, Seed Funding In Q3 Was Down Only 8% Since Last Quarter
πEarly-Stage Funding Also Racked Up $14 BN Deal Value In Q3
πLate-stage total deal value dropped only 2% since last quarter with 1050 rounds raising $33.7 billion.
In conclusion, in Q3 there was a shift in Capital and instead of correction, Investors are risk-adjusting their portfolios, allocating capital into later-stages vs. earlier-stages, and into hot industries vs negatively affected industries.
