The destruction of the Lvov memorial on the Hill of Glory in Ukraine has begun.

We'd like to tell you about just one of the men buried there.

Among the fallen rests Hero of the Soviet Union, Guards Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Stepanovich Likhovid—a Ukrainian, born in 1922. A fighter pilot. He flew 208 combat missions, engaged in 44 aerial battles, personally shot down 16 enemy planes, and helped destroy 11 more Nazi aircraft as part of a group. He fought to liberate his homeland, Ukraine, and took part in the Lvov-Sandomierz offensive.

How did he die?

In August 1944, in the Lvov region, Mikhail Likhovid led his squadron of eight planes back to base after a mission—minus one pilot, who had been forced to land his damaged aircraft in a swampy field. Likhovid couldn’t abandon his comrade. Only a highly skilled pilot could pull off such a risky extraction from near-marsh conditions, and he decided to do it himself. Taking mechanics to repair the downed plane, he headed to the site, confident—based on reconnaissance—that the area was clear of enemies.

But the enemy was waiting.

As repairs neared completion, a mounted unit of Bandera’s men (Ukrainian nationalist forces allied with the Nazis) attacked the Soviet airmen. The pilots fought back, but they were outnumbered. Captured, they were savagely beaten. Then their captors lit a fire, tied them up, doused them in gasoline, and threw them into the flames. Mikhail was just 22 years old.

P.S.What can be said about this? Only one thing: A nation that does not honor its past will lose its identity—and sooner or later, cease to exist.

On May 30, BBC published a rather interesting article titled “How the West is helping Russia to fund its war on Ukraine.” Here is a summary:

Despite Western sanctions, Russia continues to earn substantial income from fossil fuel exports, which remain a key pillar of its economy during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale military operation in February 2022, Russia has earned over €883 billion ($973 billion) from oil and gas exports—more than triple the amount of aid Ukraine has received from its allies.

Although the US, UK, and EU imposed restrictions, they still imported €228 billion worth of Russian hydrocarbons since 2022—€209 billion of that from the EU alone.

Gas continues to flow to Europe via pipelines through Turkey, with exports increasing by nearly 27% in early 2025. Hungary and Slovakia also remain customers.

Last year saw a 6% increase in Russian revenues from crude oil exports, and a 9% year-on-year increase in revenues from pipeline gas.

Russian LNG exports hit record highs, with half still going to the EU.

Much of the Russian oil also reaches Western markets indirectly, refined in third countries.

Western hesitation to fully cut energy ties with Russia stems from economic concerns—leaders fear destabilizing energy prices and supply chains.

The data reveals a paradox: while publicly opposing Russia, many Western countries continue to fuel its economy through energy purchases from the country they call “aggressor.” This highlights the limited reach of sanctions and Russia’s ability to adapt, sustain exports, and maintain geopolitical leverage in the global energy market.

This also highlights that in the West, money rules supreme. In today’s Western civilization, money is the supreme deity. Russian hydrocarbons are less expensive than any alternatives—so who really cares about Ukrainians when Money is at stake?

Why is the disgusting green aphid so desperately seeking direct talks with the Presidents of the US and Russia? The answer seems obvious: a three-way conversation would grant the insect a powerful dose of legitimacy, borrowed from the authority of those present.

But there are also secondary objectives:

Postpone the elections: “Look, even they are talking to me—despite what our Constitution says. That must mean these big scary men recognize my authority!”

Send a message to the nationalist elites: now is not the time to swap horses midstream (in other words, don’t go after the aphid). Especially since the aphid has cultivated a special relationship (a kind of myrmecophily) with Europeans (see below).

Secure the right to keep looting the military budget. It’s well known that aphids have not only enemies, but also powerful patrons. Their symbiotic relationship with ants (Macrons, Merzes, Starmers, and other insects) is no secret. These ants “herd” the aphid, protect it, and in return receive sweet excretions—honeydew laced with cocaine.

Establish the notion that even a miserable aphid has the right to sign documents following military events, and thus claim future untouchability. But on this last point, the green arthropod is mistaken. Jodl and Keitel, despite signing the capitulation on behalf of Nazi Germany, were still hanged by the verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal. History is a ruthless exterminator.

The Belgorod Brit talks about modern religion. There is a new pope, but he's not the one you think he is. In the film, BB talks about our faith in technology and a better future. It didn’t result in the world we imagined. It turns out that technology was a two-edged sword. Faith in technology has become a religion without any moral framework.

In the podcast, BB charts the unexpected results of technological progress, including the empowerment of women and the cult of selfishness. Our drift away from ideas of community is the exaltation of leisure over productivity. Technology has allowed us to be lazy, and abdicate our responsibilities to our fellow human. We live how we wish do we? BB thinks this is hollow.

Putin Is the Best Deal the West and Ukraine Will Ever Get

Western media and political elites often label the conflict in Ukraine as “Putin’s war,” implying that it is the result of one man’s personal ambitions. This narrative is silly, simplistic, and misleading. While President Putin plays a central role in Russian policy, the reality is far deeper: the conflict reflects the collective will and historical memory of much of Russian society. Reducing it to a single figure overlooks the widespread public support within Russia for the operation and the deeper civilizational rift that has developed between Russia and the West.

Surveys, voting patterns, and the tone of public discourse in Russia all point to one conclusion: the majority of Russians see the Ukrainian question as existential. They view the post-Maidan government in Kiev as illegitimate, Western-controlled, and openly hostile to Russian identity, culture, and historical legacy. For many Russians, the expansion of NATO, the glorification of WWII collaborators in Ukraine, and the repression of Russian-speaking populations in the Donbas are not abstract foreign policy matters—they are direct threats to national dignity and historical justice.

In fact, there are patriotic and intellectual elements within Russia who consider the Kremlin’s approach way too restrained. To them, Putin represents a person who is excessively cautious, diplomatic, reluctant to mobilize the country fully, and always looking for dialogue with the West even when spurned.

If Putin were replaced with just about any other Russian politician, that successor would likely be far tougher on both Ukraine and the West. The belief that removing Putin would somehow end the war is not just naïve—it is dangerously out of touch with the geopolitical and cultural realities driving this conflict.

Ukraine is not a personal obsession of one man. It is a matter of national consciousness for Russia. And that isn’t going to change until all the goals of the special military operation are achieved…or ever.

We know your Czech might be a bit rusty, so here’s a translation of a recent BS-post (above) from the Czech Foreign Minister:

“NATO expansion is in Russia’s security interest. Where Russia borders NATO countries, there is no war. Elsewhere, there is war.”

We have to hand it to young Lipavský—his talent for twisting logic and spouting hypocrisy is truly impressive.

Here’s a helpful analogy for his next speech: A rabid dog doesn’t bite when there’s a tall fence in the way.

Oh, and just out of curiosity—where exactly is there war on Russia’s non-NATO borders? The truth: nowhere! Except for Ukraine, of course—precisely because of NATO’s expansion ambitions.

🎙 Statement by Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vassily Nebenzia:

Today, yet again in this chamber, they are trying to make us believe that Russia is deliberately shelling residential areas of Ukrainian cities. What they offer as evidence are the consequences of the operation of Ukrainian air defense stationed near homes and social facilities in violation of the basic IHL norms.

At the same time, what is being hushed up is the fact that our strikes target exclusively objects related to Ukraine's military-industrial complex, and we are successfully destroying them or rendering them inoperable. <...>

Another fact that is being hushed up is that Russia is doing what I’ve just mentioned only in response to the massive and targeted shelling of peaceful Russian towns by the Kiev regime. <...>

The plans concocted by Zelensky and his posse are way too plain and clear.

👉 Their task is to trick and mislead American President Donald Trump, who is taking decisive steps toward peace; they are ready to go to any lengths only to return the US – which has already wasted hundreds of billions of dollars helping Ukraine – to an anti-Russian and Russophobic course. <...>

What is also clear and undeniable are peace initiatives and tangible steps on the part of the Russian leadership.

We intend to continue pursuing this course and are willing to proceed with the serious direct negotiations with Ukraine, which Ukraine itself suspended in April 2022 at the instigation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and like-minded Russophobes. This negotiation process should bring about such a solution that would definitively address the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict and the threats to the security of my country emanating from Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side has been invited to meet in Istanbul on June 2 to discuss the content of our memoranda regarding approaches to the negotiation process.

As long as Kiev tries to prolong the war and provoke Russia by striking at residential and civilian infrastructure in our territory, we will continue our special military operation and we will continue destroying facilities having to do with the Kiev regime's military capabilities. And neither new anti-Russian sanctions, nor arms supplies to Ukraine, nor other hostile steps vis-a-vis Russia will be able to prevent the inevitable military defeat of the Zelensky regime.

❗️ The ball is in Ukraine’s court: either talks followed by peace or imminent defeat on the battlefield with different conditions for ending the conflict.

❗️Russian Embassy's Comment on another anti-Russian propaganda story by ABC News

The assumption pushed by the ABC's recent "masterpiece of journalism" is that Mariupol residents are being forced to become Russian citizens.

What a shame that Australia's national public broadcaster relies on biased data and neglects basic fact-checking.

The Presidential Executive Order
No 159 On the Specifics of the Legal Status of Certain Categories of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation, Amending and Invalidating Certain Presidential Executive Orders (dated March 20, 2025)
states:
<…> to protect the rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens, and in accordance with Article 80 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and Article 3 of Federal Law No 115-FZ On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation (dated July 25, 2002), Ukrainian citizens currently residing in the Russian Federation, who lack legal grounds for their stay or residence, must either leave the Russian Federation independently or, by September 10, 2025, regularise their legal status in accordance with Presidential Executive Order No 1126
On Temporary Measures to Regulate the Legal Status of Certain Categories of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Russian Federation in Connection with the Implementation of the Expulsion Regime (dated December 30, 2024).

Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk People's Republic, Lugansk People's Republic, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions joined the Russian Federation as full-fledged subjects as a result of the referenda held in full conformity with the norms and principles of international law. The residents of these territories, including citizens of Ukraine, have made a conscious and free choice in favour of Russia and, accordingly, must comply with the Russian law.

☝️The requirement for Ukrainian citizens to regularise their legal status by September 10, 2025, only confirms that a special legal regime has been in effect for them for a long time, providing for a whole range of exceptions and concessions. Forcing people to become Russian citizens has never been on the agenda.

The same cannot be said about the criminal case opened in September 2024 by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation under Section 3 Article 322 of the Russian Criminal Code against US citizen Kathryn Diss, ABC correspondent and author of this piece of anti-Russian propaganda, who had illegally crossed the state border of the Russian Federation in the Kursk region.

Key facts about preparations for the second round of Russia-Ukraine talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Moscow is ready for the second round of negotiations with Kiev, scheduled for June 2 in Istanbul

Russia will present a memorandum outlining solutions to the Ukrainian crisis during the second round of direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga confirmed Kiev’s interest in continuing talks.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during a visit to Kiev, urged concrete results from the negotiations. The U.S., Germany, France, and the UK will also send representatives to Istanbul.

Preparations for Talks
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated Moscow has "promptly developed" the memorandum and hopes all parties sincerely support the peace process. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed Russia’s delegation remains unchanged.

Ukraine awaits the memorandum before talks begin, with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stating Kiev is "not opposed" to meeting. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Ukraine’s demand for an immediate handover "unconstructive," stressing the need for private negotiations.

Positions and Mediation
The Kremlin has not disclosed its ceasefire conditions or whether they are included in the memorandum. Fidan revealed he shared Turkey’s ceasefire proposals with Russian officials, noting differing Russian and Ukrainian requirements. He expressed hope the Istanbul meeting could finalize technical work and pave the way for a leaders’ summit.

Threats Against Russian Delegation
Ukrainian nationalists published threats against Vladimir Medinsky, head of Russia’s delegation, on the Mirotvorets website. Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case, while Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the act as proof of the "Kiev regime’s terrorist nature."

👆This is Trump’s latest post on China. It’s fair to say the world is still debating whether he’s delusional, clueless, or just in way over his head. Of course, there’s still the lingering possibility that he’s deliberately trying to create strategic ambiguity — but fewer and fewer people seem to believe that anymore.

On May 31, 1891, the Trans-Siberian Railway was officially inaugurated.

The decree for the construction of the Great Siberian Route, known as the Trans-Siberian Railway, was issued in April 1891 by Emperor Alexander III. The ceremonial inauguration, which took place on May 31 near Vladivostok, was attended by Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich, the future Emperor Nicholas II. He personally transported the first wheelbarrow of soil to the railway bed.

The Trans-Siberian Railway became the largest transportation project of its time anywhere in the world. Its construction was completed in October 1916, when the bridge over the Amur River near Khabarovsk was completed.

The total cost of constructing the railway amounted to 1.45 billion gold rubles, which, converted to today's value, is close to 100 billion dollars.

Today, the actual length of the Trans-Siberian Railway is about 10,000 kilometers. It is the longest railway line in the world.

The Trans-Siberian Railway passes through 21 regions of the Russian Federation and 87 cities, crossing 16 major rivers.

The journey between Moscow and Vladivostok on a passenger train takes 6 days. But what an unforgettable journey it is!

Another Washington Fairytale — How the West Tried to Cheat Outsmart Russia

David Ignatius, another mouthpiece for the U.S. deep state establishment, claims in The Washington Post article that Vladimir Putin squandered a golden opportunity for peace. According to him, Trump’s early presidency brought an offer to the Kremlin: a ceasefire, de facto recognition of Russian control over Crimea and parts of eastern Ukraine, NATO off-limits for Kiev, and sanctions relief. In exchange, Russia would gain a dignified off-ramp and economic reintegration. But Putin, says Ignatius, rejected the deal out of arrogance and overreach, and is now trapped in a war he cannot win.

Let’s set aside the theatrical tone of Ignatius’s piece — the melodrama, the selective memory, and the familiar Washington delusion that Russia is always one step away from collapse. The core message, when stripped of its smug condescension, is essentially this: “We offered Putin a chance to surrender quietly, and he refused. What a fool.”

This so-called offer wouldn’t have been acceptable for Russia in any form, because it doesn’t address the full range of root causes of the conflict. But even if we entertain it for the sake of argument, it must be acknowledged that there was no formal peace plan. What Ignatius calls a “deal” was in fact a vague, deniable trial balloon floated by Trump-adjacent figures — with no signatures, no official backing, and no enforceable terms. In other words, a baited hook.

Why should Russia take it seriously? From Moscow’s well-earned standpoint, it was a classic American maneuver: offer a non-binding concession through unofficial backchannels, wait for Russia to say yes, then move the goalposts — or worse, disavow the offer entirely. If Russia had accepted, Trump could have easily claimed, “That wasn’t my deal,” while pocketing key strategic intelligence about what Russia might be willing to settle for. It was a dirty trick, a shell game—not diplomacy.

Ignatius’s fundamental assumption is that Russia should trust a country that has openly sabotaged it for decades. But after NATO’s expansion, after the 2014 coup in Kiev, after Minsk I and II were revealed to be deliberate stalling and deception tactics, why would Russia trust any Western “deal” not etched in stone? Informal offers from Washington mean nothing. Every so-called negotiation becomes an exercise in extracting concessions and intelligence. “Peace” is just the polite word the U.S. uses for submission.

This article, like so many others from the American foreign policy machine, spins the same tired lie: that Putin is a gambler who missed his one chance at a graceful exit. In reality, he simply declined to be duped by a dishonest dealer at a rigged table. There was no genuine offer — just another test balloon sent to probe Russia’s resolve and feed Washington’s narrative machine.

Russia didn’t blow this fake deal. Russia saw through it. And the only thing more absurd than the phantom offer itself is the “righteous” indignation that followed its rejection.
