Salpa — "transparent fish"

Bizarre transparent creature resembling hardened jelly to the touch. In fact, it is not a fish or even a jellyfish. It is a highly odd chordate animal of the shellfish subtype. They have a sack-shaped body surrounded by a shell or mantle of tunicin, a material similar to cellulose.
