These flies have been zombified by a creepy parasitic fungus ๐ฑ๐ง ๐ฎ
โ
โCalled Entomophthora muscae, it takes control of a fly's brain and sends the fly to die on the highest point it can reach. Then the zombifying pathogen concocts a powerful aphrodisiac to tempt the males to mate with the bloated female carcasses which are literally bursting with spores.

92 years ago, on February 18, 1930, American astronomer Clyde William Tombaugh discovered the planet Pluto.
Interesting fact: Pluto has made only 1/3 of a revolution since it was discovered. A year on Pluto lasts 247 Earth years ๐

Chang and Eng Bunker, the original Siamese twins. Born in Siam (Thailand) in 1811, these conjoined twins moved to the USA when they were 18. They spent some time touring in circus "freak shows" until settling down in North Carolina, where they married local sisters and fathered 21 children, some of whom went on to become Confederate soldiers in the US Civil war. Chang and Eng died at age 62 in 1874. (Oil painting by รdouard Pingret, 1836)
