The largest producer of wheat in the 21st century was... China: 17% of all wheat was grown there between 2000 and 2020. Second place went to India (12.5%), and the "bronze" was shared by Russia and the United States: by 8.4% of world wheat production.
And in arid Pakistan, for example, grew more wheat than in Ukraine: 3.4% against 3.1% (8th and 10th places in the world, respectively)
