After the breakup of the USSR, the Lithuanian basketball team couldn't afford to participate in the 1992 Olympics, so the Grateful Dead funded the team's expenses and sent a box of tie-dyed outfits in Lithuania's national colours. They went on to win bronze.

We know it's hard to believe, but this man was buried 2,400 years ago. โ˜ ๏ธ
โ€‹
He's called the Tollund Man, and is what's known as a 'bog body' as he was discovered in one of the peaty wetlands. Found in Denmark in 1950, he is so well preserved because of the highly acidic water, low temperature, and a lack of oxygen in bogs. When they pulled him out, authorities initially mistook him for a recent murder victim because of the level of preservation.

An interesting optical illusion created with the help of ordinary candles

You might not believe us, but all 12 of these orbs are the same shade of beige.

Shrinking the image exaggerates this illusion, while zooming in minimizes the effect, according to David Novick, the creator of the image and a professor of engineering education and leadership at the University of Texas at El Paso.

The brain of Albert Einstein ๐Ÿง

It was removed within seven and a half hours of his death in 1955, by Pathologist Thomas Stoltz Harvey. Harvey removed and weighed the brain at 1230g, which is less than the average adult male brain (about 1,400 grams). It was then taken to a lab at the University Of Pennsylvania, and dissected into several pieces for further research.

Einstein's brain had a much shorter lateral sulcus that was partially missing. His brain was also 15% wider than the other brains. The thickness of Einstein's cerebral cortex was thinner than the other brains. However, the DENSITY of neurons in Einstein's brain was greater. In other words, Einstein was able to pack more neurons in a given area of cortex. The researchers think that these unique brain characteristics may have allowed better connections between neurons important for math and spatial reasoning.

This robot arm art piece is programmed to try to contain the hydraulic fluid thatโ€™s constantly leaking out and required to keep itself running. if too much escapes, it will die so it's desperately trying to pull it back to continue to fight for another day.

Explosive Boiling

Take a glass of water and heat it in the microwave until the water almost boils. Then take out the glass and put any small object into it, the water will boil when it comes into contact with outside objects.

It's all about the microwave where the water doesn't boil, it's structured. If you heat water on a gas or conventional stove this effect will not happen.
