Are sponsors continuing to sponsor drivers after retirement a new trend we will see more of?

Between Kurt Busch and Monster as well as Harvick and Busch Beer we have had two big name drivers retire and continue to work and activate with their sponsor in retirement.

I don't really recall guys doing this back in the day, maybe Petty/STP, but they stayed on his cars that whole time.

It just seems like a new thing? Something we might see more of in the future?

Original: I'm trying to find a video or information on a race where a car forced himself back onto the track with traffic and caused an immediate wreck after exiting pit road. It has to be like a 5 to 10 year old race. I just really want to to find it because I was having a discussion about Pit exit incidents, and this one was memorable, but I can't remember enough details. Thank you to anyone that can help!

I am also going to try and get to one other race but i have a lot going on this summer, and unfortunately I cannot get to Indy this year for either race. Maybe Iowa/Milwaukee or Road America will be in the cards.

Me:

-Cut the extra inches off the spoiler.

-Make the spoiler adjustable.

-Pull the power down to ~500hp.

-Remove a few rear aero strakes.

-Minimum front ride height (stop them from being sealed).
