2026 Nascar Schedule Proposed

Took my shot at making a schedule for 2026. Tried to go based on 2025 with no major changes that would require structural changes in NASCAR (such as new street courses, i.e., San Diego). I also tried to go based on weather/ geography with start times and calendar time of year for racing (i.e, no PHX in midsummer or NHMS in February). This was all in good fun while sitting at work. What could work and what could not work? Let's have fun hoping 2026 produces a good schedule!

NASCAR might want to finally consider adding a new member to their hall of fame! One of the men who helped build the sport and make it what it is today. He was was a bad ass and the rule book was written because of his creativity and genius. Smokey Yunick. Holding a grudge against someone who helped make the sport great seems petty.

With all the crazy additions and gimmicks to the NASCAR schedule ever since the pandemic (Street racing, international racing, Rockingham, Bowman Gray, Bristol Dirt, and Los Angeles), would it make sense for Freedom Factory in Bradenton, FL to be added to the schedule within the coming years? Knowing all these new additions NASCAR has been making all decade, I wouldn’t be surprised. Or, at the very least, the ARCA East Series will run a race at Freedom Factory.

What safety precautions were implemented after other drivers deaths ??

It's a given that the tragic passing of Dale led to many others being saved from death or serious injury due to Nascar taking steps to advance the safety of the sport. I can't recall what steps Nascar took before the Daytona crash to improve safety.. mostly because I was too young to follow nascar that closely. I rember Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin passing a year or two before but did their deaths make Nascar change anything? What other serious wrecks throughout nascars history made them make safety changes?

They seem maybe to have been reactive before Dales crash and became more proactive after??
