Pretty boring if you ask me. Except for the race starts.
Am I the only person who enjoys Michael Waltrip in the booth?

Look I understand heโ€™s not the most amazing commentator ever, but he has just this general floatiness about him that I canโ€™t fully describe, itโ€™s one where he seems to be just, blissfully enjoying everything that comes his way and just strolling through life.

He also honestly reminds me of a grandpa kinda figure, he just screams soft-spoken and well-mannered.

Also I do think he adds some needed lightheartedness and energy in a booth that is by the week becoming more dead than the cat at auto club.

(I do however admit though that Carson made the broadcast 10000x better by actually doing decent play by play)
Stage Racing and Playoffs

First of all let me say this opinions are like belly buttons everybody has one some are kept clean some aren't.

I consider myself a traditionalist, "vintagenalist" I grew up watching NASCAR on one channel when they were broadcast The Indianapolis 500 but originally not live on ABC My dad and I would go to our local track Riverside international raceway and sit the top of the asses of those cars one through the track and hear the sound of those engines the smell of the gasoline in the rubber is awesome time. And following the points to see who was leading in the newspapers sports section. So that's what leads me to my opinion on what has been a major change too NASCAR all three series stage racing And also with that the lucky dog and the wave around To me it's just a gimmick It's not truly racing the total miles of the race You don't have that in track and field where you stop periodically for a break Get some water change your shoes or aid for sore muscles and then take off and start again in the order that you can get back on the track the fastest. That just doesn't make any sense to me I know I know it's my belly button. In my next opinion is the playoffs or as they called it at first the chase after numerous changes It seems like every year new rules and with different amounts of points and bonus points for this I just don't understand after all those years of racing the person with the most points for winning the races and the best finishes determines the winner after all the races are done. And yes the championship could be determined before the last race but what's wrong with that if that person manage to win a lot that season and have good finishes so what It's not like the other competitors didn't have the same chance right?

I know I know I'm just sitting here with my belly button. Ed
DODGE IN NASCAR

The drawings are one thing is far as making the charger look like a NASCAR but all of the NASCAR'S 3 series use as I call it cookie cutter shape meaning they all have the same overall shape. The differences are in the front ends and slight side shapes to give it their own sort of OEM look. So the new charger would have to fit into that look in shape It's just a way for NASCAR to try to keep Not give one manufacturer of huge advantage. Just look at the Toyota Supra in the nascar Xfinity series That's Supra looks nothing like the shape of the OEM Supra, on the Ford mustang in the Xfinity series and cup car the rear end doesn't look like the mustang they have a normal coupe look trunk. Suarez is built to be an Xfinity Lifer
Reddit - Dive into anything (Reddit)

Iโ€™m sorry but years with JGR, prime SHR, and now Trackhouse, with only 2 wins, and only one being a true display of skill, it proves that he probably should just be an Xfinity lifer.

Now Iโ€™m not saying the guy canโ€™t hold his own in cup, he can run 15th - 25th most weeks just fine, but why do that when you could run 1st - 10th every week in the series lower.

With the connections heโ€™s built with several top teams he could surely land a top ride, and I think it would be the best thing for his career.

I would rather see Suarez become the first Mexican driver to win multiple nascar championships, as opposed to maybe 2 - 4 more races in cup.

Suggestion for stage cautions.
Reddit - Dive into anything (Reddit)

I think these are very interesting ideas, along with stage caution laps not counting. We are losing laps when horses should be running circles fast.

In my opinion wasting 7 laps under cation to go back racing for 4 laps just for a stage caution to waste 10 more laps is frustrating.

What do yโ€™all think of these ideas.

Thanks, u/hurricaneshand sorry to put you out there but loved the idea and wanted to share.
Cars flipping at Indy
Reddit - Dive into anything (Reddit)

It seems, in the last decade, flipping at Indy has become fairly common, one year we had, what, 4 flips? And it seems like we have at least one nearly go over or fully flip. (last Year Nolan almost flipped, right?) I just don't recall that being an issue in past years like is has in the more recent times. I know aero is part of it but what else contributes? And what is done about it, or can be?
Selling Indy 500 tickets
Reddit - Dive into anything (Reddit)

I need to sell 6 Indy 500 tickets, and Iโ€™ve never done it before. I read that at one time IMS really got concerned about people reselling and would cut off their renewal? Is this still happening? These are family tickets and my Grandma would never forgive me if that happened

Also any recommended sites to sell them?
