🇧🇩 Bangladesh limits malls and markets to 8 PM amid energy crisis.
Bangladesh has ordered shopping malls, markets and shops to operate only from 11 AM to 8 PM, while illuminated billboards must be switched off by 7 PM, according to an August 12 government notification.
The nationwide order also requires fairs, trade fairs and cultural programmes to conclude by 8 PM and decorative lighting to remain switched off.
Bangladesh’s Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood requested additional diesel supplies from India amid power and gas shortages.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Bharat had received Bangladesh’s request for diesel supplies, which is being examined.
