🇧🇩 Bangladesh limits malls and markets to 8 PM amid energy crisis.
Bangladesh has ordered shopping malls, markets and shops to operate only from 11 AM to 8 PM, while illuminated billboards must be switched off by 7 PM, according to an August 12 government notification.
The nationwide order also requires fairs, trade fairs and cultural programmes to conclude by 8 PM and decorative lighting to remain switched off.
Bangladesh’s Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood requested additional diesel supplies from India amid power and gas shortages.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Bharat had received Bangladesh’s request for diesel supplies, which is being examined.

Tata Steel has transferred its 100% stake in Jamshedpur FC to Churchill Brothers for a nominal consideration of ₹100.
The deal includes the ISL sporting licence and contracts of 12 players & 2 coaches, with Churchill Brothers taking over from Sep 2026.
The move comes after Tata Steel announced that Jamshedpur FC would not participate in the 2026-27 ISL season.
Churchill Brothers, one of Goa’s historic clubs, will now take charge of the club and its ISL commitments.

The allegation: the target was to get her to convert before Eid and send pictures to alleged Dawah-group funders. She further alleges that the co-worker returned from a Dawah meeting and shouted at her to read the Kalma and eat meat on Jumma.
The victim has filed an online complaint.
