🇮🇳🇦🇲 India's Akash-1S air defense system—renamed "Lusan" (Lynx) in Armenian service—is now in active use with Armenia's Armed Forces.

Armenia was the first export customer for the system, under a 2022 deal worth roughly $720 million for 15 batteries.

First deliveries arrived in November 2024, with a second batch after July 2025.

The Akash-1S is a medium-range SAM with about 25–30 km range, capable of tracking around 60 targets and engaging up to 16 simultaneously against aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles.

Armenia is also reportedly eyeing the longer-range Akash-NG as a follow-on.
