🚨 UPDATE:

Indian Express reports, Centre has reportedly reached out to the Opposition and indicated it is open to changes in the proposed FCRA Bill.

Report claims, the Bill may be introduced in the Monsoon Session ONLY IF the Opposition agrees to a debate.

The biggest flashpoint is a provision under which the Govt would take control of an NGO’s assets if its FCRA licence is cancelled or not renewed.

Although this is a temporary management provision, but lot of misinformation is doing the rounds.

Several church bodies & religious organisations have objected to this clause.

The report says the Govt is keen to avoid pushing the Bill without a debate, fearing it could send the wrong message.
