He will meet PM Narendra Modi to discuss bilateral ties, defence, trade, investment, technology, renewable energy, and India-EU cooperation.

He will also address a CII business event on the India-EU FTA and travel to Mumbai to meet diamond, port, and logistics stakeholders.

🇮🇳🇪🇪 Estonian Defense Minister Resigns Over €70 Million Ammunition Deal Linked to Indian Company

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur resigned on September 2, 2026, taking political responsibility after a damning state audit exposed major procurement failures in buying artillery shells for Ukraine.

To source ammunition quickly, Estonia's defense agency transferred nearly €70 million in advance payments to Datasel S.R.L., an Italian-registered firm owned by the Indian defense group Neco Defense Munitions.

However, neither Datasel nor its Indian parent firm had ever successfully manufactured or sold artillery shells before.

With Estonia now forced into international arbitration to recover the €70 million in taxpayer funds, the scandal compounded led directly to the minister stepping down.
