We heard from many users worldwide who had to pay high gas costs to participate in the protocol. We want to ensure that users, small and large, have equal access. Before this, we had already earmarked a significant portion of a future season specifically to achieve broader distribution. In light of community feedback, we are accelerating this portion to Season 1!
100 more EIGEN will be added to all users who've interacted with EigenLayer before April 29th. This additional amount will be reflected in allocations claimed after May 10th.
After simple Sybil filtering, all Season 1 users will receive a minimum of 110 EIGEN (floor of 10 EIGEN plus the boost of 100 EIGEN) . Season 2 users who started staking between March 15th and April 29th will also receive the minimum of 100 EIGEN.
To disincentivize industry-grade Sybil farms from abusing the protocol, we unfortunately can't extend this to any users who stake after the announcement date (Apr 29). This disincentivization was a key rationale for the original Sybil- neutral distribution, but the feedback we got from real users weighed heavily on this revision!
■ Testnet operator allocation is coming
We are aware that certain testnet users were omitted from claims eligibility. Missed testnet user allocations will be updated as part of Phase 2 of Season 1. We will provide more details in the coming weeks.
