Grace for dinner tonight. A call out to those rigs. Head bowed to heart praising a flight of truck angels carrying the message of protection. You do not, you cannot cross the highway of our humanity, into skin, soul without permission. Truth: I didn’t see their heavenly proportions when my boys were wee and looked to these conveyers of goods with a sort of unparalleled reverence that at the time I past off as child’s play. That look in their eyes. The truth of seeing the beauty of a child witness a hero. Their heart rises and beams through their eyes. You behold endless possibility in their wild openness. You remember what it is to love. To believe. And in a child to undoubtedly know goodness. As if messengers from God were cloaked in shiny metal with big wheels. Forgive my ignorance sons. I see now a flight of angels travelling across a great, mass expanse set to light the fire of truth clear, and strong and free. I too feel in my heart the awe of a three year old looking up to a rig. You are more than metal on wheels. You are a vehicle, a mover, a distributer of nourishment across vast lands and for these dark days, you are lighting a moral compass, a torch of undeniable truths destined to raise us all to see and remember who we are, why we are here and how we treat one another. - Jessica Lowry
