The registration for IJSO–2025 is officially open!

All participating countries can now register on the website under the β€˜Registration’ tab until October 22.

The Olympiad will be held in the Sirius Federal Territory, Russia, from November 23 to December 2, 2025.

The Olympiad will be held in the Sirius Federal Territory, Russia, from November 23 to December 2, 2025.
The Olympiad will be held at the Sirius Educational Center. In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, all participants, team leaders, and observers are required to prepare a complete set of documents. Adult participants should prepare 3 documents, while students with their parents should provide more of them to ensure their own and other participants safety and well-being. You can find the templates in the corresponding section on the official Olympiad website.

2 β€” legal grounds for the participant's stay at the Sirius Educational Center.

3 β€” consent of the legal representative acknowledging the Center’s terms and conditions.

4, 5 β€” documents stipulated by Federal Law No. 152 of 27.07.2006 β€˜On Personal Data’ of the Russian Federation.

6, 8, 9 β€” documents stipulated by Federal Law No. 323 of 21.11.2011 β€˜On the Fundamentals of Public Health Protection in the Russian Federationβ€˜.

7, 11 β€” documents required for participation in sports activities and use of the swimming pool. These are mandatory only if the participant wishes to take part in these activities.

10, 12 β€” documents required to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in places of mass gatherings.

πŸ”¬ IJSO 2025 Examination Rounds: Key Information

Dear participants and team leaders, here are the essential details for the three examination rounds of IJSO 2025.

ℹ️ General Rules for All Rounds

🟦Duration: Each round (Experimental, Theoretical, MCQ) is 4 hours long.
🟦Calculator: The official calculator is the Casio FX-220 Plus (provided). It must stay on your desk when you leave the exam hall.

πŸ§ͺ Experimental Round

🟦You can use a provided Windows laptop (English OS).
🟦Note: No computer-based data processing is required for this round. Data processing software (e.g., Excel) will not be installed.
🟦Important: You must save generated data files on the computer and submit any samples you create as instructed. Correct samples that are labeled and submitted appropriately earn points independently of subsequent steps!
🟦Teamwork is key! Plan and cooperate effectively.

🟦Get ready for 1-6 interdisciplinary problems.
🟦Focus on your analytical skills and the application of knowledge based on the official IJSO Syllabus.

πŸ’» Multiple-Choice Questionnaire (MCQ) Round

🟦Answers will be submitted through a secure, local web-based testing system on provided laptops.
🟦The test may include images, diagrams, and other media.
🟦Screen Recording: For fairness, all laptop screens will be recorded during this exam.
🟦Demo Session: A demonstration session of the testing system is planned for early November. All details will be provided trough the Country Coordinators.

Summary of the Press Conference on the IJSO-2025 Preparation

A press conference on hosting IJSO-2025 in Sirius was held at the Russia Today International Information Agency.

The discussion featured representatives from Sirius, the Russian Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. The experts highlighted the Olympiad's significance for Russia and Sirius's role as a platform for young researchers to showcase their scientific potential.

Anton Gusev, Deputy Head of the Talent and Success Educational Foundation and Director of the Sirius University of Science and Technology, outlined the opportunities offered by the federal territory.

Sirius will unite talented schoolchildren, teachers, and scientists from around the world. The program for participants comprises three competitive rounds and a rich scientific and cultural agenda with lectures, masterclasses, a tour around the Sirius University of Science and Technology and its Laboratory Complex, a visit to the Sirius Concert Center, and a trip to the mountain cluster.

A special part of the program will be devoted to the involvement of the delegations in the V Congress of Young Scientists, scheduled for November 26-29 in Sirius.

A demonstration version of the MCQ round for the participants of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO-2025) is now available (check the comment section below). This test consists of multiple-choice questions.

The demo testing is being conducted on the Sirius.Olymp platform. Its goal is to help teams familiarize themselves with the problem format and the system's interface in conditions that simulate the actual competition.

Access codes for participation have been sent via email to the country coordinators who completed the translation procedure earlier.
